OVERVIEW

Fortress Building Products is seeking a qualified Intern to join our Innovations team. Our Innovations department is responsible for the research and development of new products and working with the manufacturers to ensure a high quality of products. The Innovations team is seeking an Intern to assist in various drawing and design tasks.

This Intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of engineering.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in the standardization of product drawings.
  • Participate in new product design brainstorms.
  • Develop documentation of departmental processes.
  • Work with The Fortress Project Data Management system to create drawings and engineering documents.
  • Special projects as required.

Education/Experience/Additional Requirements

  • Dallas-based undergraduate student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • SolidWorks proficiency required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week in Garland office
