POSITION SUMMARY:
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is searching for full-time Employment Specialist I who will be responsible for providing a diversity of job training related services specific to carrying out Rappahannock Goodwill Industries’ mission. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provide individualized services based on participant’s career plan.
  • Submit required service delivery documentation and referrals in a timely manner.
  • Attend scheduled case conferencing to collaborate with staff in the provision of employment services for referred clients.
  • Develop positive public relations with businesses to provide awareness of RGI’s diverse employment services.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend scheduled staff training/meetings.
  • Accurately document case notes, employment plans, and client progress using internal and external data tracking systems.
  • All other duties assigned.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 1+ year’s equivalent experience in social work/rehabilitation, working with individuals with barriers to employment area preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience in conducting/supervising training programs with knowledge of principles and techniques of development and implementation of training strategies a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong digital skills including Microsoft Office Suite, cloud-based computing, and online data-tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License (driving record must be acceptable to RGI’s insurance carrier).
  • Must be able to pass various background checks including criminal and DMV.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/WORK CONDITIONS:
  • Ability to stand and move around for extended periods. Ability to climb, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, carry, push, pull, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Office environment, variable work schedule.
  • Occasional travel (including use of personal car).
