Position type: Full Time, Employee

Location: Colorado Springs, CO. There is a possibility of working a hybrid schedule depending on qualifications and performance.

Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; Master’s Degree Preferred

Citizenship: United States citizenship required

Job Description: ExoAnalytic Solutions is looking for an exceptionally talented Accountant Subject Matter Expert with significant experience and technical depth who has an innate interest to join a technology and innovation leader in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.

Specific Job Duties Include:
  • Reading and interpreting tax regulations and advising and performing tax filings and business registrations for state, US, and international taxes, as needed.
  • Performing stock option expense calculations.
  • Reading and interpreting stock plan documents.
  • Assisting with all aspects of developing and establishing an ESOP.
  • Demonstrating familiarity with job cost accounting and monitoring indirect rates for variances. 
  • Leading discussions with external and internal auditors.
  • Reading and implementing compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Interpreting and implementing policies and procedures to comply with new GAAP guidance.
  • Educating employees on stock options.
  • Assisting CFO by developing reporting processes.
  • Conducting complicated calculations including the R&D tax credit. 
  • Preparing special financial reports and budgets by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial information.
  • Calculating monthly recurring journal entries, such as depreciation, amortization, and Right of Use Assets/Liabilities.
  • Providing expertise and training across the Accounting Department to assist junior staff in completing their assigned tasks. 
  • Assisting with month end and year end closing by developing written procedures.
  • Assisting with general ledger reconciliations, as needed. Analyzing and resolving any discrepancies in the GL. 
  • Conducting annual variance analysis of general ledger. Preparing and presenting reports on trends in general ledger activity.
  • Conducting revenue and expenditure variance analysis and reporting to management as necessary.
  • Assisting in preparing Stock Account Reconciliations to the GL and annual employee statements.
  • Contributing to a team environment by accomplishing related work streams as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Perform the tasks above independently with little to minimal supervision.
  • 10+ years of experience performing a variety of duties and responsibilities in accounting or auditing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills required. Present information and respond to questions from various levels of the organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts.
  • Project Management skills preferred.
  • Honest and ethical.
  • Familiarity with stock option expensing and tax rules.
  • Self-driven, results oriented.
  • Continuous process improvement mindset.
  • Expertise in Excel including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA License
  • Understanding of government job cost accounting​​​​​​
Salary:  $165,000 – $205,000 depending upon degree and experience
Actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and years of experience.
