Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator (UAV) Subject Matter Expert (SME)

SSE is a leading technology company serving St. Louis, MO and Jacksonville, FL for over 30 years. We develop aviation courseware training, virtual training environments, and technical publications for some of the most advanced military and commercial aircraft platforms.

We are seeking an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator (UAV) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in St. Louis, MO.   We will consider this as a REMOTE opportunity for the right candidate.
 

UAV Operator will serve as a Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help develop courseware for MQ-25 curriculum courseware program.  Subject Matter Experts work as an integral and collaborative team member, along with other Subject Matter Experts, Technical Writers, Graphic Artists, Programmers to build courseware to cover functional areas on the MQ-25 program.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform duties of courseware developer (instructional designer) on MQ-25 pilot/operator aircraft systems.
  • Produce and verify design documents, scenarios, guided demonstrations, graphics requests, and instructor materials
  • Review and ensure quality, technical correctness and instructional soundness of draft/final interactive multimedia lessons
  • Work independently under minimal supervision
  • Participate in all phases (Analysis, Design, Development, Deployment)
  • Understand and articulate project scope and vision – client alignment
  • Understand adult learning principles, graphic design and layout principles

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience as an Operator on the MQ-4 or MQ-25 platform is desired. 
  • Operator experience on the MQ-1, MQ-9, will be considered.
  • Ability to work in collaborative team environment with project manager, other courseware developers, multimedia developer, graphics artist, and technical editors
  • Willing to ensure performance to deadlines and milestones
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively deliver complex messages/instruction clearly
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe.
