Client Information: 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) focus on high impact prevention of HIV—by preventing new HIV infections, improving health outcomes for persons with HIV, and reducing HIV related disparities and health inequities.   

DHP develops and maintains a variety of data and information systems to support its mission, including systems to collect, transmit, store, and analyze data for HIV/AIDS surveillance, epidemiology, and program monitoring and evaluation. We are looking for IT and public health partners including statisticians, researchers, behavioral scientists, computer scientists, public health advisors/analysts, budget analysts, and other program staff. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and closing of projects, focusing on time, budget, and quality constraints. 
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual and project requirements. 
  • Provide detailed analysis and reporting on project status, risks, and issues, facilitating proactive decision-making. 
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to refine project controls and performance metrics. 
  • Utilize project management tools to track project progress and identify variances from the planned objectives. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project control or project management within IT or related fields. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent). 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and analyze project data to inform management decisions. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience working on federal government projects, particularly in health-related IT projects. 
  • Understanding of CDC or public health operations and compliance requirements. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification. 
  • ​​​​​​​Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
