Client Information: 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) focus on high impact prevention of HIV—by preventing new HIV infections, improving health outcomes for persons with HIV, and reducing HIV related disparities and health inequities.   

DHP develops and maintains a variety of data and information systems to support its mission, including systems to collect, transmit, store, and analyze data for HIV/AIDS surveillance, epidemiology, and program monitoring and evaluation. We are looking for IT and public health partners including statisticians, researchers, behavioral scientists, computer scientists, public health advisors/analysts, budget analysts, and other program staff. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules that include all project phases and dependencies, milestones, and deliverables. 
  • Utilize project management software to track and analyze project timelines, workload balance, resource allocation, and forecast potential delays and bottlenecks. 
  • Work closely with project managers and team leads to gather all necessary data for schedule development and updates. 
  • Provide regular reports and presentations on the current status of the project schedules to stakeholders and project teams. 
  • Identify risks associated with project timelines and provide strategies for mitigating these risks to ensure timely project delivery. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project scheduling, planning, or a related field. 
  • Proven track record of developing and managing complex schedules for large-scale IT projects. 
  • ​​​​​​​Proficient in using project management tools like Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar scheduling software. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience in public health or government projects, with an understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements. 
  • Familiarity with IT development and implementation processes. 
  • ​​​​​​​Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) or specific training in project scheduling methodologies.
