Client Information: 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) focus on high impact prevention of HIV—by preventing new HIV infections, improving health outcomes for persons with HIV, and reducing HIV related disparities and health inequities.   

DHP develops and maintains a variety of data and information systems to support its mission, including systems to collect, transmit, store, and analyze data for HIV/AIDS surveillance, epidemiology, and program monitoring and evaluation. We are looking for IT and public health partners including statisticians, researchers, behavioral scientists, computer scientists, public health advisors/analysts, budget analysts, and other program staff. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and implement solutions for integrating diverse software systems, databases, and applications into a cohesive and functional ecosystem. 
  • Work closely with software developers, architects, and network engineers to ensure proper integration of all system components. 
  • Develop and maintain system integration documentation including architectural designs, data flow diagrams, and system interfaces. 
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, provide root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain system efficiency and reliability. 
  • Monitor system integration health, providing proactive solutions to prevent potential issues. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in system integration, software engineering, or related fields. 
  • Strong background in software development with hands-on experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#. 
  • Proven ability to work with APIs, Web Services, and middleware for system integration. 
  • Experience with database management and data integration tools. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience in healthcare IT systems, particularly integrating systems that handle sensitive or regulatory-compliant data. 
  • Knowledge of public health informatics and associated technology solutions. 
  • Certified SOA Architect. 
  • ​​​​​​​Any relevant certifications in enterprise integration tools or platforms (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
