We have recently partnered with a client who has a thriving Outsourced Accounting Operation that supports growing small to mid-sized businesses. In this role as a Senior Accountant, you will partner with client leadership including CEO, CFO, Controller, Sole Proprietor, Accounting Manager, etc. ensuring the accuracy of client’s financial transactions with a wide range of complexity.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciling account balances and bank statements
  • Maintaining general ledger
  • Preparing month-end close procedures, and analyzing financial reports for clients
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Assist and mentor bookkeepers
  • Plan, assign and review bookkeepers’ work
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes for various clients
  • Assist in developing and documenting business processes/accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls for clients
  • Collaborate with our Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures

To succeed in this role, our client is looking for a seasoned professional that can work in a somewhat self-directed fashion. While our client’s division has 10 professionals, your ability to plan your work and ensure completion within a timely fashion is critical. Your background will exhibit:

  • 4+ years G/L accounting experience either in a similar CPA, consulting or business advisory service firm or within a complex accounting group handling accounting for multiple entities
  • Bachelor’s degree would be nice, but is not required
  • Demonstrated track record of success and ability to “roll with the punches,” through career stability of no more than three (3) jobs in the last five (5) years. While this is an IDEAL it is not a deal-breaker. Be prepared to discuss this pro-actively if you have more positions in that timeframe
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting principals
  • Excellent experience with QuickBooks (Online & Desktop) and other small to mid-sized business accounting packages including Sage, Xero, MS Dynamics, etc.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
