Our client is seeking a change-agent that will be the key person in an accounting team overhaul for 2020 and 2021. In partnership with the Accounting Director, CAO and CFO, our client is seeking a diamond in the rough that is looking for an opportunity to shine with brilliance in this high-profile role. 

Our client is seeking a professional that can manage:

  • Review and assess the processes of all major accounting areas to seek out process and procedure enhancements, create automation and removal of redundant processes
  • Review current inventory accounting processes to establish better internal controls, reporting, and inventory tracking
  • Will work with senior leadership on assessment and implementation on new ERP system
  • Work hand in hand with CAO and Accounting Director to:
    • Establish and maintain internal controls
    • Manage all aspects of the general ledger
    • Prepare financial statements and reports
    • Provide monthly, quarterly and year-end analysis
    • Assist with the budget process
    • Research accounting issues
    • Serve as liaison to external and internal auditors
    • Directs the work of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application staff and evaluates their work performance
    • Establish timelines for completion of achievable project goals
    • Assists the Accounting Director and CAO with month-end financials and year-end close

To succeed in this role, our client is seeking a candidate that possesses:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting  
  • CPA designation REQUIRED
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Big 4 or other Top 50 National CPA firm
  • Client will consider candidates with corporate accounting experience and leadership within a large ($500MM+) public or private corporation
  • Advanced understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions and proven ability to document and support accounting conclusions
  • Wholesale/Distribution/Retail industry experience A HUGE PLUS!
  • Experience with Oracle or SAP helpful
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment
  • Audit experience a plus to identify control weaknesses and develop solutions for rapid implementation
  • Highly proficient in Excel
