Benaiah Consulting Group has recently partnered with a rapidly-expanding multi-million dollar retail and wholesale distributor located in the heart of East Texas, consistently rated as one of America's Best Places to Work and is looking to expand their current operation. Our client has recently created a new role for a Corporate Accounting Director within their accounting team. Our client is looking for a diamond in the rough that will partner with the Chief Accounting Officer and CFO to build out a world-class accounting organization that will focus on both tactical and strategic accounting initiatives as they expand through this growth phase.

Our client is seeking a professional that can manage:

  • Leading the evaluation of all significant accounting transactions, research and implementation of relevant accounting technical standards, and preparation of technical accounting memos supporting all accounting positions
  • Preparing the company's annual financial statements and interim financial reports
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Company’s quarterly Board of Director and Executive Committee meeting materials
  • Overseeing centralized accounts payable processing and shared services accounting, allocations, and P&L cost center reporting
  • Leading the implementation of new technical accounting guidance and training
  • Collaborating with Internal Audit for the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and internal controls, as needed
  • Coordinating with external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audit process
  • Challenging and understanding financial information so that issues are resolved and financial results are properly recorded and presented
  • Coordinating with internal and external tax teams in preparation of year-end tax returns

To succeed in this role, our client is seeking a candidate that possesses:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting  
  • CPA designation REQUIRED
  • 10+ years of experience in public accounting with a Big 4 or other Top 50-100 National CPA firm and Corporate Accounting experience out of a large ($500MM + in revenue) corporate entity
  • Ability to communicate and partner with all levels of the organization including key external stakeholders
  • Work with different stakeholders to gather business requirements or needs around key accounting issues
  • Coordinate acquisition business integration efforts
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing a team and/or third-party advisor relationships
  • Wholesale/Distribution/Retail industry experience A HUGE PLUS!
  • Experience with Oracle or SAP helpful
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
