Ponderosa Telephone, a technology service provider offering voice and internet services, located in O’Neals, California, is seeking an experienced Human Resources & Safety Manager. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop strategic policies to ensure solid human resources practices and procedures.
  • Develop strategic policies to ensure compliant safety practices and procedures.
  • Perform general HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, new hire orientation, training, staff engagement and staff development.
  • Administrate Employee Benefits programs, paid time off, and leave management.
  • Employ systematic processes for collecting data, reporting and ensuring compliance to federal, state, local laws and company-wide guidelines,
  • Advise supervisors and employees on policies and procedures; performance management; and other human resources related functions.
 The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline preferred.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in Human Resources Management or Generalist preferred.
  • SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or related certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated success supervising and directing the work of administrative staff.
  • Some knowledge of Construction, Telecommunications and Electrical Safety Orders; OSHA and CalOSHA, Safety Orders, IIPP/HIIP.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources laws, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to train employees and present compliance training.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, various software and computer systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks under the pressure of competing deadlines. Must be highly organized.
