Description

This position is responsible for working with both the Residential and Commercial design and engineering  teams to assist in the estimating, designing, planning and construction of the electrical portion of our smart energy solutions. As the In-House Electrician, the responsibilities will be varied and this person will need to have exceptional time management and communication skills. It’s a fast paced company with strict deadlines and this role is integral in keeping projects on track. There aren’t any direct reports but this role will be a resource for Sales, Site Surveyors, Residential Design, Commercial Estimating, Design, Project Managers, Field Staff, Service and management. This position is focused on preconstruction. Our Director of Electrical Operations, who is a Master Electrician, is focused on the construction side. The two roles will work together to ensure design and installation excellence.

Primary Responsibilities to include:
 
  • Assist with commercial and residential estimating
  • Commercial electrical site visits (ESV)
  • Commercial and residential electrical design review
  • Primary electrical resource for residential and commercial project management teams
  • Help facilitate and train our internal design and engineering staff
  • Provide technical assistance to Service and Field Electricians when quality issues arise

Position Requirements
 
  • Review incoming commercial opportunities with the commercial estimating team and assist the commercial design team in creating an accurate design, and defining scope of work
  • Participate or direct commercial site surveys to ensure all necessary data and information about the site is collected and shared with appropriate team members
  • Assist commercial and residential project managers with electrical questions and explanations
  • Review electrical line diagrams and bill of materials for accuracy
  • Training of existing and future design staff on best practices, products, codes and calculations.
  • Assist procurement with product selection and alternatives
  • Communicate and work with electrical inspectors for code clarifications and exceptions

Compensation
 
  • This is a full-time, exempt position with an expected annual base salary of $85,000-115,000 
  • PTO accrual of up to 80 hours annually
