Looking for The Data Assurance Manager

The Data Assurance Manager has business and data analytical skills as well as a knowledge of regulatory, management, and risk reporting requirements covering the key products offered across the US Operations. He/She will provide comfort over the end-to-end completeness and accuracy of the work performed for regulatory, management and risk reporting. To achieve this objective, He/She will conduct independent reviews on disclosures with a focus on the control environment, reporting processes, data dictionaries, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidance and centralized data governance. He/She is independent of all US Operations reporting activities and housed in the US Region Model Risk Management activities. He/She will define the functional requirements for design testing, test data, development independent validation plans, and implement the firms’ regulatory, risk, and management reporting validation framework. He/She performs a control function and should have a broad experience of working in regulatory and management reporting, preferably in a policy or consultancy function.



²  Identify relevant regulatory guidance for a particular disclosure and form their own interpretation of compliance, including challenging internal policy where necessary

²  Review business requirements for compliance against relevant regulation and substantive testing of those requirements to ensure implementation is correct

²  Review of existing framework, including manual adjustments and processes and procedures

²  Focus on control environment and monitoring / driving process efficiency, including challenge of operating model

²  Test data quality and population control, leveraging firm-wide processes and developing reconciliations

²  Manual calculation of the impact of findings on the own funds requirement or disclosures

²  Writing detailed reports for senior management of findings, including background into the requirements and recommendations on resolution

²  Developing network and acting as key contact within the QA team with other areas, such as Accounting, Risk Management, Compliance, Credit Risk, BSA/AML, etc.


Required Skills and Personal Attributes:

²  Knowledge of the banking, capital markets operations and data analysis;

²  Mathematical skills with an understanding of data quality metrics, data infrastructure, metadata repositories (including data dictionaries), and attention to details

²  Independent worker, accountable and skilled in exercising sound judgment and decisiveness under pressure 

²  Knowledgeable of risk data aggregation (RDA) and risk reporting management and associated regulatory requirements (BCBS 239) are required. 

²  Strong interpersonal, team-working and organizational communication skills

²  Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Access) and risk management tools

²  Good command of spoken and written English and Mandarin (preferred)



²  BS in Quantitative discipline required or advanced technical degree in finance, financial engineering, accounting, audit, mathematics, or related fields. 

²  Industry certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA, FRM)

²  7+ years of experience working in data related quality assurance

²  Experience at a foreign bank organization preferred
