Qualifications:
•Graduated from Radiological Technology Training in a JCERT approved school program
•Current ARRT (R) registry card on file
•Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
•Current CPR card (or completion of course within 30 days of hire)
•Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing
•Able to frequently lift up to 60 pounds, reach, pull, bend, stoop, and kneel
•Demonstrates adequate vision or correctable glass to read, write, and evaluate medical images
•Able to hear or correctable with hearing devices and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the telephone
•Able to hear, see and feel to accurately observe, monitor and administer care
•Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e. operate imaging equipment, develop film, venipuncture)
 
 
Responsibilities
•Operates MRI equipment, performs data manipulation and processing to produce diagnostic images
•Consistently screens patients and staff for contraindications before allowing entry into MRI scan room
•Thoroughly explains and educates patients about procedure
•Reinforces patient compliance issues throughout the exam to consistently produce motion-free diagnostic images
•Uses good judgment and discretion by consulting with radiologist when appropriate
•Processes, manipulates, sends images to PACS, prepares room, equipment, supplies, and contrast media
•Provides compassionate patient care during imaging procedures
•Records information for the patient’s medical record

MRI JOB SUMMARY:
