Director of People & Culture 

In this newly created HR role, you will serve as the right hand to the VP of People & Culture. This an operational HR role will manage HR Generalists on the field level within the greenhouses as well as be the primary point of contact for operations and corporate staff. In this highly visible role that touches all levels of the organization including frequent exposure to our executive team.

Location: Fully remote role with travel


Job Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with the VP to establish and build scalable HR foundations that drive attraction, retention, and engagement of farmers. Include onboarding, management training, leadership development and engagement initiatives
  • Work with our 3rd party partners to optimize and build our wellness, benefit, 401k, leave management and other programs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and HR expert for a growing operations and HR team including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and counsel
  • Formally and informally manage and mentor members of the team
  • Stand in for the VP when needed.


Required Skills/Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or HR
  • All new hires must be fully vaccinated against COVID- 19 by their start date
  • 10 years’ experience in high growth CPG companies or foodservice
  • Must have HR operational experience on the ground level of food processing or manufacturing
  • HR mindset and is highly skilled at influencing, building relationships, challenging effectively and being able to manage current while building for the future
  • Desire to grow and sees feedback as a gift
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively on the greenhouse floor as the board room
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confident and humble approach. Natural problem solver, leader and builder
  • Solid skills in Microsoft 360 – word, excel, outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to be successful in a dynamic and fluid environment
  • Desire to build and create vs executing a fully realized plan
  • True passion for making the world better through food and people
