POSITION SUMMARY:
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is searching for a remote Accounting Specialist-Accounts Payable who will be responsible for performing various accounting duties to support the business and its mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Prepares invoices for payment.
  • Maintains Accounts Payable files.
  • Process Check Runs
  • Deposits Cash Receipts
  • Answers employee accounts payable and credit card procedures questions.
  • Follows all purchasing procedures.
  • Follows accounting and financial operating procedures under policies, guidelines and supervision, assuring use of approved accounting procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
 Education/Training:
  • 1-3 years’ experience in related field, Associates Degree preferred.
  • General knowledge of general accounting practices.
  • Ability to learn technical accounting principles.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, to include Excel and Word.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.

Physical Demands:
  • Verbal and written communications, bending/walking/lifting up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Virtual Home Office environment with occasional travel (including use of personal car) and variable work schedule.
