Production Manager
We are working with a nationwide dairy manufacturer with a great deal of resources that is looking for a Production Manager.
This is a growth opportunity within an expanding organization. The Production Manager is responsible for the overall management and direction of manufacturing within the plant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to achieving department goals within budget, coordinating with all sectors of the organization, vendors and oversees the interviewing and hiring of employees.
Location: Delaware County, NY
Job Responsibilities:- Analyzes manufacturing data and identifies trends, variances and opportunities for improvement; utilizes methods to assure manufacturing processes are more efficient and effective
- Directs adjustments of the manufacturing processes to maintain conformance with standards specifications and customer requirements
- Ensures compliances with workplace and government standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA)
- Responsible for maintaining all GMP and all regulatory requirements
- Responsible for preparing a variety of manufacturing reports and presenting
- Responsible for preparing a variety of manufacturing reports and presenting information to senior managers, including identifying corrective actions or adjustments as required
- Responsible for the overall safety of employees through continual inspection of department, making necessary changes when needed
- Partner with Managers to coordinate departmental activities. Works closely with Maintenance on a variety of issues related to equipment, department maintenance and preventative maintenance program
- Ensures adherence to GMP, GSP, FSSC practices, and QC policies and procedures, and proper maintenance of equipment
- Responsible for overall department budget and capex process, to include collection, preparation and presentation of data to top management. Responsible for continuously monitoring and explaining variances in labor costs and productivity
- Partner with HR to establish and communicate company policies, operating procedures, and goals
- Participates in and may assume responsibility for product grading
- Ensures QA programs prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products
- Ensures successful completion of department specific initiatives
- Ensures effective employee relations by supporting and maintaining a safe and positive work environment
- Analyzes and assists in resolving employee issues through problem resolution
- Supervisory responsibilities - overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units in accordance with the organization policies.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, regarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems

Required Skills/Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 5 or more years of management experience is preferred or equivalent experience to include 7 years of management experience is required
- Experience in the dairy industry is preferred
- Must have experience in production, packaging, warehouse and distribution preferred
- 5+ years’ experience leading direct reports is required
- OSHA, Food Safety, FDA, and USDA knowledge is preferred
- Knowledge of ISO and certifications within the food industry
