Role Overview
The IT Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the company’s technology operates smoothly. This position provides hands-on support to users in the La Paz office, troubleshooting issues and maintaining hardware, software, networks, and cybersecurity measures. Beyond resolving technical problems, the specialist enhances efficiency by managing IT resources, optimizing tools, and contributing to technology-driven solutions that improve daily operations. This position is based in La Paz, Baja California Sur, México.
Key Responsibilities in this Role- Provide in-office IT support for the La Paz office, offering comprehensive technical assistance for connectivity, software, hardware, and email issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technology-related issues, including system updates and data backups.
- Ensure security systems are up to date to protect company data and maintain cybersecurity compliance.
- Manage antivirus software and implement cybersecurity protocols to safeguard IT infrastructure.
- Administer and organize company data, ensuring proper access controls and security.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access within the IT infrastructure.
- Maintain and support applications, networks, telephony systems, and cabling.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of workstations, laptops, and network equipment.
- Handle employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including managing user accounts and technology assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Assist in developing and implementing tools and applications to enhance internal processes.
- Manage and track the inventory of IT assets, including maintenance, warranties, locations, and equipment status.
- Monitor software licenses and ensure timely renewals.
- Assist in the procurement of laptops, software, and other IT equipment.
- Support the auditing and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure efficient technical support.
- Oversee and maintain IT asset and inventory management.
- Provide support in coordinating technological infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with and report to the FastGrid Corporate Technology Division to monitor service and project status, implement initiatives, and ensure compliance with best practice protocols.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields).
- Experience: 1 to 5 years in technical support, technology asset management, or cybersecurity.
- Languages: Advanced English is desirable.
- Desirable Knowledge: Networks, technology asset management, cybersecurity, and internal customer support in different areas of the organization.
