SUMMARY:
The Jr. Data Analytics Engineer will support UP Entertainment’s technology team in maintaining, enhancing, and expanding the company’s technology and data infrastructure. This role involves close collaboration with technologists, marketers, data scientists, and company management to drive growth in UP’s streaming and TV platforms. Reporting to the Head of Innovation and Consumer Technology, the position encompasses various projects, including ETL tasks, data analysis, data modeling, monitoring, quality assurance, security, automation, AI and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Data Integration and Maintenance:
- Collaborate with Streaming Unit, Marketing, Audience Insight, and Executive team members to connect and maintain data sources.
- Support data inquiries, analyze data, and identify trends to present actionable insights.
- Monitor, maintain data quality and reliability of data pipelines, and troubleshoot data integrity issues within the Marketing Technology Stack.
- Analytic Solutions Development:
- Data Governance and Privacy:
- Work with a cross-functional Metadata Assurance and Data Privacy Team to implement best practices for data and metadata quality, governance, integrity, and privacy.
- Utilize AI/Gen AI to enhance metadata across UP Entertianment content catalog leveraging tools such as Airtable for a metadata management system (MMS)
- Liaise with MarTech Vendors on roadmap items, updates, and general maintenance.
- ETL/ELT Processes:
- Develop, edit, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to transform input datasets to desired output datasets. Common data connections include JSON, CSV, MySQL, APIs, among others.
- Administer data loading tools using Amazon AWS or Google BigQuery.
- Utilize Customer Data Platforms (CDP) such as Segment to orchestrate data to downstream tools such as Meta, Google Ads, HubSpot and Looker.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or 2-4 years of relevant work experience acquired through data bootcamps; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with cloud environments, specifically AWS or Google Cloud is strongly preferred. Knowledge of AI and GenAI technologies is a plus.
- Strong background in Python and other open-source languages, with additional experience in Node.js and its frameworks (Express, Meteor, Nestjs) is a plus.
- Prior experience in the entertainment industry is a plus.
SKILLS- Project Management: Ability to prioritize, organize and manage a variety of detailed tasks simultaneously.
- Time Management: Ability to work effectively in a deadline driven environment.
- Oral & Written Communications: Exceptional, written, and oral communication skills. Communicates well one on one, in small groups and larger presentations. Writes clear, precise, well-organized documents using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and wording
- Innovation: Develops innovative approaches and ideas and meets challenges with resourcefulness
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team; experience working with cross functional teams
- Technical Skills: Demonstrates proficiency in systems, process tools, software and/or other technology and tools used by the company, which are essential to successful performance in the employee’s role.
- Proficiency in SQL query writing, database schema creation, and data transformation.
- Proficiency in PHP and solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and design.
- Solid understanding of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) or Model-View-Presenter (MVP) framework.
- Strong experience in creating, editing, and managing APIs and Webhooks is preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, in addition to the skills in the Education/Experience noted above an individual must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Google Workspace. Preferred experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode), data analysis, ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load), and workflow automation. Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and web development is a plus.
