We are working with a rapidly growing food tech company that is very dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of food and serving local communities. Seeking a talented Senior Procurement Manager who will lead, manage, and execute the strategic negotiations and procurement activities to improve reliability, quality and reduce operational costs. This individual will also be responsible for sourcing and onboarding new suppliers, strategic cost, and service negotiations, managing purchasing, and developing supplier partnerships.

Location: Irvington, NY- Hybrid Schedule (2-3 times a week reporting into office)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Utilize competitive intelligence to optimize costs on all facility purchasing requirements, including but not limited to raw materials, packaging materials, utilities, and facility equipment and supplies
  • Oversee all materials' procurement and purchasing process, ensuring best practices are followed relative to purchasing controls, quality, cost, and inventory management.
  • Manage long term, strategic supplier relationships
  • Manage the sourcing and onboarding of new suppliers
  • Leads successful supplier negotiations focused on the total cost and ensured all business terms are clearly outlined in any end agreements with vendors
  • Partner with Marketing on innovation and new product launch procurement
  • Conduct market research and analysis for benchmarking current costs and projecting trends
  • Identify supply risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential issues. Recommend alternative materials and suppliers to ensure a secure supply
  • Develop, monitor, and refine procurement and purchasing KPIs and metrics
  • Manage regular purchasing activities with the suppliers for operational consistency
  • Manage procurement and purchasing team
  • Ensures pricing is accurate, consistent, and established at the appropriate negotiated level; ensures negotiated discount percentages are reflected in the pricing structure

Required Skills/Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or another closely related field
  • 10+ years of relevant operational procurement experience in consumer products manufacturing
  • Strong Purchasing/Strategic Sourcing expertise
  • Strategic and creative thinker who can drive communication internally and externally and keep pace with a changing marketplace
  • Strong teammate, with the innate ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detailed understanding of cost drivers
