OnKure is seeking lab-based Process Chemist to support OnKure’s Discovery pipeline and Clinical Development.

The ideal candidate will bring a high level of independence, a get things done attitude, and the ability to apply their experience to manage risk and drive programs forward in a small-company environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • With minimal direction, solve complex process chemistry problems in support of OnKure’s discovery pipeline and clinical development work​​​​​​
    • Design alternative synthetic routes and/or reaction conditions toward a target molecule
    • Optimize reaction conditions to maximize yield, improve reaction profile, facilitate purification of the product, etc.
    • Use a variety of appropriate analytical techniques to understand chemical reactions and quantitate reaction components
    • Develop each step such that it can be safely and reproducibly scaled up to multi-kilo scale at external collaborators
  • Manage and oversee technology transfer to external collaborators
  • Act as the main laboratory point of contact for Process Chemistry-related questions and needs
  • Other duties as required
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • PhD in synthetic organic chemistry with 2-4 years of API process research experience or MS/BS in chemistry with equivalent industry experience
  • Thorough knowledge of synthetic methodology and API process optimization
  • General understanding of GMP regulations/FDA guidelines in API production
  • Expert analytical skills with an emphasis on HPLC techniques
  • Ability to multi-task and conduct multiple experiments simultaneously
  • Articulate verbal and written communication skills
  • Independent thinker driven by scientific curiosity

The level and annual compensation range for this role, based on experience, is $110,000-$125,000.
