Howard University Hospital seeks to hire a Staff Accountant II who will embrace our rich and historic tradition of excellence.

Hours are: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. 
Pay Range: $27.31-$43.69

The Staff Accountant II: 

• Performs balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, prepares and posts standard journal entries, and performs account analyses to respond to customer inquiries regarding general ledger balances
• Contributes to the production of HUH’s internal financial report book and responds to standard requests for information during the conduct of HUH’s annual financial statement audit.
• Maintains and controls the accounting records assigned
• Responsible for ad hoc reporting, including revenue/expense analyses and pro-forma analyses, as needed.
• Effectively participates in the financial statement close meeting for the hospital
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area.  The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all-inclusive.

A qualified candidate will possess: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• One (1) to three (3) years’ work experience in financial records and analysis
• Health care experience desired
