EarthLink, a leading provider of secure Internet services based in Atlanta, is looking for a Director of Business Development to lead the sales efforts for our new and existing product lines.

The Director of Business Development at EarthLink will be responsible for establishing and growing our market share in both our current and future target markets by identifying and procuring relationships with new business partners across the U.S. in support of both strategic and tactical business objectives.  The Director will act as collaborative thought leader engaging cross functionally with other department leaders to provide insight and strategies for optimizing business development goals and solutions.

Primary Job Functions

  • Set up introductory and/or follow up meetings with the appropriate decision-makers, including the use of the candidates existing relationships and/or cold calling when necessary to establish new business or expand existing business.
  • Work with Product Development team to position company and new products where necessary.
  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets. Provide project information to the company leadership regarding customer or prospect deployment plans.
  • Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas.
  • Plan & organize technical and sales training for new customers and seek new sales opportunities and contacts
  • Participate in Sales Trade Shows or other Sales and Marketing events as required
  • Drive increased revenue to achieve the Company's ambitious growth.

Qualifications and Skills

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Business Development in a fast-paced, high tech or telecommunications business.
  • Strong relationship management, negotiation and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Analytical problem solver
  • Team-oriented with positive attitude
  • Basic understanding of networking products and technologies
