Mass Insight is seeking a Part-time AP Environmental Science Content Specialist for the AP team. This  position is primarily based in Massachusetts and is available immediately.  The Content Specialist will report to the Senior Director of Content Development for Science.  This position will provide remote support and travel to Mass Insight schools/district for in-person support as needed.

The primary focus of this position will be to oversee high quality implementation of Mi’s AP Environmental Science offerings to increase the number and diversity of high school students taking AP Environmental Science and increase qualifying scores in high schools.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support high school educators to increase program AP Environmental Science enrollment and results
  • Create support materials for a monthly newsletter to teachers
  • Support the increased effectiveness of AP teachers through coaching, modeling classes, curriculum alignment support, planning course of study (syllabus), and assisting in lesson planning
  • Leverage content expertise to create rich training materials, conceptualize meaningful interactive learning experiences, and facilitate coaching and planning sessions for AP teachers
  • Build, manage and support strong relationships with teachers, administrators and students
  • Work directly with students enrolled in AP classes through tutoring, in-class visits, after school sessions, and Saturday Study Sessions
  • Support with the coordination, preparation, scheduling, and reporting of Saturday Student Sessions
  • Provide quality assurance and support to AP presenters at conferences, workshops, and Saturday Student Sessions
  • Organize and conduct Environmental mock exams and study results with participants and teachers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related content area
  • College Board Reading experience preferred
  • Minimum three years of teaching AP Environmental Science
  • Experience developing and/or facilitating professional development events
