Instrument Operator

Booming Jacksonville, Florida land surveying and mapping company seeks a Instrument Operator to compliment its top-notch survey staff. Be a member of a two or three-man crew utilizing state of the art survey and mapping equipment including GPS receivers, digital levels, electronic total stations, hand-held data collectors, Electronic Field Book (EFB) and RC Hydrographic survey equipment.

Enjoy an interesting mix of field work related to residential development and FDOT support including boundary surveys, construction layout, control surveys, topographic mapping and ALTA surveys. Included in the mix are preservation projects, parkland projects, transportation authority projects and aviation design projects.

Your education matters to this company. All non-registered survey technicians are involved with the Certified Survey Technician (CST) Program and the company provides other paid-for educational opportunities.

Your job will be to assist Crew Chief to accurately measure angles and distances necessary to complete a field survey. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

-Measures angles and distances by using various survey tools
-Establishes and measure elevations using level.
-Drives company vehicles as directed by Crew Chief.
-Performs all duties following company procedures and safety guidelines.
