What You’ll Do:
As a key member of our team, the Product Line Analyst will help research, evaluate, and drive key company growth initiatives with a focus on Distributor Stock Program (DSP). This individual will be involved in a wide variety of projects and initiatives that are focused on driving sales and profitability for the company. This position will report to the Program Manager of Business Development and will be highly interactive with several departments within the organization including Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, IT, Purchasing, and Supply Chain.
Primary Responsibilities:- Support company growth initiatives with a focus on all key areas of Product Management: Pricing, Margins, Sales, Forecasting, Communication, Inventory strategy and mix, Operational performance/service and Marketing strategy
- Expand and/or build on existing product offerings while enhancing Omni Cable’s value proposition by challenging and proposing new capabilities
- Work closely with Program Managers and Purchasing to monitor and adjust inventory profiles as needed to ensure desired inventory turns and service levels on select product line, with heavy focus on DSP.
- Develop a product and inventory forecasting model (new and existing products) to support Sales and help Purchasing with managing inventory by optimizing inventory turns and working capital
- Lead the development of a Product Line Optimization template– key areas would include measuring Quote Activity, Orders Written, Orders Entered, Margins, Regionally and Nationally to identify opportunities for growth
- Support the Purchasing Team’s directive of managing and reducing Slow Moving and Obsolete (SMO) inventory by driving awareness and action with the Sales organization
- Analyze and monitor monthly sales activity and profitability of select product lines across all 12 Regions to ensure margin, profitability and sales targets are meeting or exceeding expectations – helping identify and drive a national strategy that optimizes sales and inventory / working capital
- Support the Sales organization by developing proactive analyses and analytical tools and models to drive sales and profitability optimization
- Key contact supporting both Inside and Outside sales teams on product and growth initiatives to drive sales strategy and performance
- Address and coordinate resolution of operational issues and opportunities regarding new product initiatives
What You’ll Need:- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas - Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Operations
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross functional teams to drive action and results
- Ability to effectively lead change within an organization
- Demonstrated communications skills, both written and verbal
- High Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) – especially Excel
- The ability to build custom analytical models focused on Sales & Margin, Profitability, Forecasting, and Inventory Management
Preferred:- Wire and cable industry experience – Distribution and/or Manufacturing
- Core financial and P&L comprehension
