GSE Solutions leverages five decades of proven industry experience and is searching for an experienced Electrical Engineer. GSE Design & Analysis Group Electrical Engineer specializes in providing consulting engineering services to Industrial and Commercial facilities and support for the nuclear utility industry, including studies, drawing development and revisions, calculations, analysis, etc. 

Essential Functions:
  • Develop designs for approved scopes of work, develop drawings to document the designs, and PE seal the designs. Work will cover both Electrical and I&C requirements as specified by the client/designs.
  • Interface with client and vendors, ensuring that designs meet all applicable Building and Electrical code requirements applicable to the location of the facility.
  • Visits clients to develop relationships, support project meetings, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Perform comprehensive site inspections to understand existing conditions, develop project scopes, and complete designs.  Site inspections may be in dirty, noisy and/or outdoor areas.
  • Ensures no out of scope work is performed until approved by the client and the company.  Identify any project issues that may affect project quality, schedule, or budget to the Project Manager and propose potential solutions for consideration.
  • Participate in D&A Quality assurance program and reviews to ensure client deliverables meet DPE standards.
  • Promotes company teamwork and supports high morale.
  • Assists Responsible Engineer in support of assigned duties as required.
  • Supports Project Manager in preparation of scopes of work, budget, and schedules for proposals.
  • Promotes the common understanding that the customer and the quality of the products and service is the priority and that each person in the company is here to support that purpose.
  • Performs engineering work in support of Company projects or consulting engagements.
  • Mentors lower-level engineers and consultants, as needed.
  • Complete D&A Responsible Engineer training and associated certification programs.
  • Complete D&A Engineering qualifications to work independently on tasks.
  • May be required to take temporary assignments at customer locations to support business needs and requirements.
  • Continues to develop a mastery of a subject (subject matter expert) within their engineering discipline.
  • Completes projects and assignments at or below proposed budgeted billable hours.
  • Meets project schedules.
  • Complete activities with a high level of quality that does not require any rework.
  • Complete Project Engineer certification.
  • Maintains an individual percent billable as determined by goals set by the President.

  • Computers & Software – basic working knowledge and ability using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of engineering services, especially nuclear.
  • Ability to initiate and prepare staffing and revenue forecasts and project budgets.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Must be capable of obtaining unescorted access at nuclear plants and other facilities. This includes successfully passing drug and alcohol screening, a background check and plant access training.

Education & Experience
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 7-15 years of experience in design engineering for a firm doing similar work as D&A supporting nuclear and industrial projects
  • Texas Professional Engineers (PE) License required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Building Codes and National Electrical Codes required.

 Physical Demands:

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions:
  • General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time.
  • The working environment is generally favorable.
  • Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
  • Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access

Pay Range
$95,000.00   Annually to $130,000.00   Annually
