Security Administrator

Conexess Group is aiding a prominent healthcare company in their search for a new Security Administrator. The Security Administrator’s role is to analyze processes and procedures to mitigate physical, technical and procedural risk to the companies’ information systems.  We use industry standard tools to give insight and analysis capabilities to our information systems security team.  This includes but is not limited to SIEM, patching, auditing, scanning and security automation tools.
 
Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions: 
Strategy & Planning
1. Assess and improve documentation, infrastructure and security strategy
2. Develop strategies for client/server implementations; architect the infrastructure required to support those strategies
3. Act as project lead in the design and implementation of new security systems and strategies with supervision; conduct risk and vulnerability assessments as needed
4. Assist, coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the security and infrastructure environment
5. Coordinate and collaborate with network and systems engineering, DevOps, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability and security of corporate applications and servers to meet business demands
6. Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies (including security appliances) to ensure infrastructure security
7. Assist in designing and implementing data center/server room security features, including HVAC control, environmental alarms and access restrictions
Operational Security:
1. Manage telecom and VOIP security settings, updates and firmware
2. Monitor service desk ticketing system for tier 2 security issues and prioritize accordingly
3. Plan and implement server patches and security configuration changes
4. Monitor and test security configurations, policies and procedures
5. Create security scripts as required
6. Recommend and execute modifications to server and network environment in order to improve security
7. Develop and maintain training, security and infrastructure documentation
Work Environment:
• On-call availability for 24 x 7 one week a month for business needs our emergency production issues
• Sitting for extended periods of time
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components
• Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings
• Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
Required Education, Experience & Competencies: 
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 2 years equivalent work experience
• CompTIA Security+, Network+ or GIAC certifications desired but not required
• At least two years’ equivalent work experience in a senior technical analytical position responsible for managing server environments
• Advanced knowledge of at least 3 of the following system types: Server 2012 R2/Windows 7 and above, PowerShell, Python, Ubuntu, Exchange Online, MS SQL, Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Route/Switch 
• Experience configuring and maintaining all manners of server hardware, storage and network equipment
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, SIEM, firewall, and operating system management and configuration
• Knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, replication, LDAP, and user management.
• Proven knowledge of securing information systems, security kill chain and remediation methodologies
