Our client is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to join their Data Services team. Their team’s mission is to establish the long-term technology strategy in order to provide the most innovative and efficient payment processing solutions delivered with unparalleled customer service and support.
This position can be worked remotely within the United States.
What you’ll be responsible for:- Maintains database environments; applies updates, maintenance packs, patches, & fixes for all environments.
- Assists in the maintenance and management of database reporting infrastructure.
- Works closely with developers, support and QA teams to maintain all DB environments.
- Refreshes databases as needed by developers or functional teams.
- Performs database administration activities including; installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, database backup and recovery, optimization and disaster recovery.
- Performs database server upgrades.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:- Minimum of 2 years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration (2016 or newer) or SQL development experience.
- Must be able to work weekends as needed and an on-call rotation.
- Not eligible for visa sponsorship.
What would be nice for you to have:- Experience in the Scrum or other Agile framework.
- FinTech experience or experience working with data in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience with production support, manipulating data as needed.
- General knowledge of database administration, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and systems analysis procedures.
- Minimally, a general working knowledge of database software and operating systems.
- General communication, writing, and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in development process.
- General organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to write, modify, and review queries and advise others on best practices of query development.
- Abie to provide guidance on physical and logical design patterns for relational systems.
- Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) a plus.
