POSITION SUMMARY:
        THIS JOB IS NOT REMOTE Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is searching for a Virtual Services Navigator for our Virginia Career Works Center in Fredericksburg, who will provide individualized or small group assistance to jobseekers utilizing Goodwill’s online platform. The position is part of Rappahannock Goodwill Industries’ strategy to improve digital workplace readiness skills and to promote equitable access to jobs.  The position requires in-person career coaching (50%), virtual service delivery (50%), and local travel to RGI territories for outreach and promotion of the virtual platform.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provide guidance and virtual career navigation for jobseekers using RGI’s Virtual Services platform.
 
  • Assess client’s current digital skills, work readiness, and career interest/aptitude to create an individualized career success plan.
  • Utilize the virtual services platform to connect jobseekers with local businesses, increasing RGI’s job placement and job retention impact.
  • Establish and cultivate community partnerships to serve as Virtual Services access points in each of RGI’s jurisdictions. Specific time will be dedicated to working with RGI’s IT on digital program promotions.
  • Submit required service delivery documentation, job placement reporting, and referrals in a timely manner. The Navigator will receive, return, or initiate telephone/email/web contact with clients seeking assistance or identified by the Center Manager for assistance.
  • Develop digital learning pathways for in-demand work readiness skills.  Examples might include online career exploration tools and assessments, online job posting tools and techniques, resume writing, interview preparation, Microsoft Office, & virtual services applications.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend trainings on technology access such as virtual services databases, affordable cell phones, internet service, and assistive technology.
  • Accurately document case notes, client plans, and client progress using internal and external data tracking systems.
  • All other duties assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
 Education/Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 1+ year’s equivalent experience in social work/rehabilitation, working with individuals with barriers to employment area preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience in conducting/supervising training programs with knowledge of principles and techniques of development and implementation of training strategies a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual ability to provide customer service in second language preferred.
  • Strong virtual services including Microsoft Office Suite, cloud-based computing, and online data-tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License (driving record must be acceptable to RGI’s insurance carrier).
 
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand and move around for extended periods. Ability to climb, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, carry, push, pull, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
 
 
Working Conditions:
  • Office environment with occasional travel (including use of personal car) and variable work schedule.
