POSITION SUMMARY:
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is searching for a Sustainability/After Marker Manager who will manage the aftermarket and solid waste operations, including the receiving, processing, and marketing of all salvage and recyclables. Conduct energy audits to ensure best practices and collaborate with all departments to develop, implement, and sustain effective energy management concepts and practices, and efficient operation of utilities. They will ensure accurate tracking of materials and maintenance of records of incoming and outgoing materials. This person will manage the logistics, equipment specifications, and environmental compliance as required along with building strong business relationships with recycling vendors, community professionals, outside agencies and other business contacts in addition to internal stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Develops and establishes strong business relationships with recycling vendors and other business accounts.
  • Provide and develop energy conservation programs to manage energy/utility consumption further reduce/better within the organization.
  • Ensure successful delivery of recycling and solid waste operations, including the receiving processing and marketing of all recyclables.
  • Ensures that all recyclables are disposed of in a responsible manner.
  • Assesses, evaluates, establishes, and develops new business opportunities. Ensures projects meet strategic goals.
  • Maintains an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect target markets.
  • Researches and develops list of potential salvage/recycling vendors.
  • Diligently follows up on and develops leads.
  • Produces regular reports, final plans and forecast reports.
  • Understands client/prospect’s requirements and can direct pursuit activities with internal team.
  • Coordinates with the operations group on scope and timelines.
  • Schedule and monitor all department hours to ensure cost effective operation.
  • Negotiate pricing for salvage and recyclable goods.
  • Sets and manages expectations and proactively communicates with vendors.
  • Successfully and professionally delivers presentations to vendors.
  • Identify trends, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching to management team to act and achieve operational goals.
  • Maintain an awareness of competitive retailers and marketing techniques.
  • Monitor the maintenance of all equipment and any other contracted services for the retail stores and donation sites to include, but not limited to trash, docks, forklifts, and balers.
  • Responsible for training, supervising, conducting performance reviews, disciplines positions supervised including terminations.
  • Assures accuracy of all bank deposits as it relates to all AM operations.
     
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
 Education/Training:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years management/supervisory experience.
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License (driving record must be acceptable to RGI’s insurance carrier).
  • Ability to simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple projects to meet critical deadlines.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with peers and business partners.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, cloud-based computing, and online data-tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.


Physical Demands:
 
  • Varying hours with ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, carry, push, pull, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, dirt and noise.
  • Inside retail store environment.
  • Outside at donation sites.
  • Occasional travel (including use of personal car) and variable work schedule.

Pay Range
$42,000.00   Annually to $46,000.00   Annually
