ABOUT THE POSITION
The Oracle Product Data Hub Subject Matter Expert is part of the Oracle ERP implementation team at Astec Industries, Inc. This position will continue to report to the employee’s existing manager with matrix reporting to the Product Data Hub Value Stream Owners. This key position will be relied upon as a subject matter expert for the Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP Implementation (and related subprojects). The Oracle ERP SME function is to elicit, analyze, specify, validate, and document the stated and implicit needs of the business. He or she will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the project team to define business and system processes through workflows and written requirements to support the migration from legacy systems to Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud (and related subsystems). This will include developing current and future state data and process maps and identifying technology gaps and remediation plans with the new systems.

Key Activities & Responsibilities
  • Work with business stakeholders to learn business processes and gather business requirements.
  • Establishes self as a trusted adviser and thought leader to the business teams.
  • Break down technical complexities so that they can be easily understood by business units and project stakeholders.
  • Execute and assist business stakeholders with testing of system changes and analyze data flows for process improvement opportunities.
  • Synthesize high-level concepts surrounding new work requests into a set of business requirements.
  • The person will help collaborate with System Integrators, Oracle Consultants, other related ERP subsystem integrators, and Astec IT Business Analysts to configure the Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud product to support initial implementation and subsequent process optimization efforts.
 
  • Understand functional and technical integration points with other systems that interface with the application, evaluate, and minimize ripple effects.
  • Provide support to end-users and other subject matter experts, including managing issue resolution and performing root cause analysis as needed.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field and/or 5 years of working experience required.
  • 3+ Experience in related function (ex: SME, Oracle PDH would have experience in Design Engineering, Parts Sales, or other work experience involving product data, items, item structures, etc)
  • Experience with process mapping, group facilitation, data gathering and analysis.
  • Experience with item masters and related attributes.
  • Prefer experience as a project team member for a full lifecycle tier 1 ERP implementation project.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Including Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint and preferably SharePoint.
  • Experience using Oracle Fusion Cloud is preferred.
  • Must be highly self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
  • Must be able to solve problems at both a strategic and tactical level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work well within and across functional teams.
  • Strong ability to facilitate and lead meetings and discussions.
  • Must have strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to solve practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited resources may exist is required.
