The technician guarantees the correct setup and functionality of specified Astec products, covering installation, commissioning, startup, training, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. They collaborate with engineering to diagnose and resolve issues and provide training to customer staff on maintenance and operational procedures, aiming for optimal efficiency and customer contentment.

The Salary Range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 depending on experience. 


What You'll Do:
  • Perform installations under supervision of experienced personnel.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with customers.
  • Provide support for Astec Technical Assistance Center (ATAC) as required.
  • Conduct cross-training for Tier 1 technicians.
  • Deliver formal training to customers onsite or in a classroom setting.
  • Identify and address manufacturing and engineering defects with sustainable solutions.
  • Assist local, state, and federal inspectors and compliance officers when necessary.
  • Aid in new product development initiatives.
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of electrical, electronic/control systems, and mechanical components.
  • Conduct operator skills training for customers, covering startup, troubleshooting, and system operations.

  • Coordinate with Astec sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams for product or process issues.
  • Collaborate with Functional Leadership, Product Support Managers, and Office Support Staff for accurate service reporting and billing.
  • Provide 24/7 emergency dispatch support to customers and staff. 85% - 90% Travel.

What We Need from You:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some work experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or related fields.
  • Preferably 5 years of experience in HMA, Concrete, or Combustion Industries.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with circuitry, pneumatic, hydraulic, and power transmission equipment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively domestically and internationally on short notice.
  • Proficient in utilizing remote tools for issue resolution.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Basic arithmetic and computer proficiency (Windows, Microsoft Office, Concur, IPS Control Systems).
  • Strong analytical skills, including welding and fabrication abilities.
  • Conflict management and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently or in small groups.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in written communication and maintaining productivity with minimal supervision.
