Position Overview
The Business Development Executive (BDE) is responsible for pulling qualified opportunities through the sales process—from Discovery Call to signed contract. This includes maintaining a strong pipeline, securing RFPs and bids, managing the proposal and negotiation process, and developing long-term relationships with key clients.

This role is a critical growth engine for Constructable and requires a hunter’s mindset, a strategic and consultative approach, and the ability to manage both new client acquisition and existing account expansion.

The BDE works closely with the Business Development Representative (BDR), Marketing, and Estimating Teams, leveraging tools such as Salesforce and ZoomInfo to drive performance and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Pipeline Development & Opportunity Management:
  • Work with the BDR Team to convert qualified Discovery Calls into actionable sales opportunities. 
  • Proactively self-source new business opportunities through networking, outbound outreach, referrals, and industry events. 
  • Manage and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects in Salesforce.
  • Drive opportunities through each stage of the sales process - from initial conversation to closed won contract.​​​​​
Proposal & Contract Management:
  • Collaborate with the Estimating Team to develop compelling, customized proposals and responses to RFPs/RFQs. 
  • Lead follow-up efforts to ensure timely feedback and movement through the proposal stage.
  • Own the negotiation process, including commercial terms and contract language, in collaboration with legal executive leadership.
Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and nurture trusted advisor relationships with new and existing clients.
  • ​​​Manage key accounts with a focus on retention, repeat business, and long-term client value.
  • Acts as the voice of the customer internally, relaying market intelligence and feedback to leadership and operations teams. 
CRM & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of all client interactions, deal stages, and pipeline activity in Salesforce.
  • Use ZoomInfo and other tools to gather client intelligence and support account targeting efforts. 
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, track KPIs, and optimize outreach and conversion strategies. 

Qualifications

Required:
  • 5+ years of experience B2B business development, ideally in industrial construction, engineering, or capital projects. 
  • Proven track record of managing complex sales cycles, from lead qualification to contract execution. 
  • Experience responding to RFPs, bids, and negotiated contracts. 
  • Advanced consultative selling and strategic account management skills.
  • Strong negotiation, objection handling, and closing capabilities. 
  • Proficient in Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and sales enablement tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and data-driven.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or other relevant education highly preferred. 
  • Experience in design-build, industrial construction, engineering, or related B2B industries.
  • Experience working with clients in Energy, Oil & Gas, Data Centers, and Transportation sectors.
  • Existing relationships or network in one or more of Constructable's target verticals.
