Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 plus competitive benefits package

The Role
The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) is seeking a creative, strategic, and results-driven Social Media Strategist to lead and evolve our brand’s social media presence across platforms. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing high-impact strategies, creating compelling content, managing paid and organic campaigns, and analyzing performance to increase engagement, grow brand awareness, and support organizational goals.
What You Will Do
As the Social Media Strategist, you will:

Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies aligned with brand goals, campaigns, and key messaging.

Create—or oversee the creation of—original, engaging video and static graphic content for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, BlueSky, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

Manage and optimize both paid and organic campaigns, including influencer collaborations, product launches, and brand storytelling.

Lead social media moderation and community engagement efforts

Identify platform-specific opportunities to grow reach and engagement.

Build and manage a cross-platform content calendar, ensuring consistency in brand voice and visual identity.

Collaborate with internal creative, communications, and program teams to ensure cohesive and inclusive messaging.

Monitor, measure, and report on social media performance, using data insights to inform and refine strategy.

Conduct A/B testing to optimize content and maximize ROI.

Stay current with trends, tools, and platform updates to keep URJ’s social media presence innovative and relevant.

Serve as a social media expert and support cross-functional collaboration.

Build relationships with platform partners, influencers, and aligned organizations to expand reach and impact.

Preferred Qualifications
-
4+ years of professional experience in social media strategy, content creation, or digital marketing—preferably in a nonprofit, mission-driven, or community-focused organization.

Strong familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, or other native platform insights) and using data to inform strategy.

Graphic design and/or short-form video creation experience using tools like Canva, CapCut, and ClipChamp

The ability to tell and grow our story in an authentic way thanks to an understanding of or interest in Reform Judaism and its values.
