Description

Helix Resources is seeking a Project Manager to join our Port Allen, LA team. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of projects from initial assignment through completion; facilitates, coordinates, and/or leads the execution of multiple projects to ensure that the project goals are met within the prescribed time frame and funding.

 

Providing project management support to Helix Resources includes developing bid packages, estimating project costs, reviewing and selecting suppliers, procuring materials and services, understanding project plans and specifications, scheduling project work activities, providing project oversight, coordinating and communicating with project personnel, and helping to ensure successful project completion and closeout.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Assists in developing project proposal packages for upcoming projects, focusing on the timely submission of completed proposals.
  2. Work with the Project Management Team to ensure the successful completion of ongoing or new projects and assist in the continuing development of company and client goals through safe work practices. Provide ongoing project management assistance to Superintendents and Foremen for current construction projects.
  3. Reviews projects according to phase objectives for constructability, code compliance, and completeness of documentation; inspects construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to plans and specifications.
  4. Prepare detailed reports on project progress, identifying problems, solutions, milestones, financial cost projections, and analyses; inspects construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to plans and specifications.
  5. Performs project administrative support activities, including development and maintenance of job files and tracking of project schedule and budget; is responsible for scope, budget, and schedule development of assigned projects.
  6. Estimates costs of upcoming projects accounting for labor, equipment, materials, services, and all other associated costs
  7. Monitors and facilitate resolution of construction contract disputes and/or claims.
  8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required experience and Education:

  • A four-year college degree is desired: Construction Management Preferred OR any equivalent combination of construction project management experience, training, and/or Education approved by Human Resources.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in jobs with 100% of time project managing a construction site(required)
  • Proficient verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements
