As a Career Case Manager, you will support guests of Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission by integrating career development with transitional case management. This role oversees Career Pathway and Education Programs while providing holistic, Christ-centered support in a transitional living environment. The Case Manager helps guests reintegrate safely into society through individualized guidance, resource connections, and spiritual care.
Scheduled: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Starting Rate: $27.42
How you will serve
- Assess students’ skills and assist with goal setting and individualized program plans.
- Test and evaluate student’s performance.
- Oversee Career Center classes, and the program internship.
- Motivate students to perform to the best of their abilities, discover their strengths, inspire them to dream, and envision a future of meaningful work and opportunity.
- Assist students in becoming job-ready and securing job placements.
- Network with businesses and organizations to find internship and job placement opportunities.
- Assist with the job search process, resume writing and interviewing skills.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to tutor and mentor students.
- Hold students accountable to meeting goals, leading students to self-evaluations when needed.
- Perform other duties assigned to support the Mission's success.
- Develop housing stability plans in partnership with guests and outside housing resources as needed.
- Support guests with finding work, budgeting, and guest responsibilities.
- Seek to develop a continuing knowledge of the field, what services are provided in the community, and establishing communication with those partners.
- Create data and narrative program reports on guest outcomes and programmatic successes.
- If an unplanned situation arises the ability to address and quickly solve problems with staff, volunteers, as well as guests, and be able to intercede and find reasonable solutions in order to maintain harmonious relations.
- Drive Company vehicles for client transportation or other work-related activities.
- Manage a caseload of individual guests in a transitional living.
- Meets with guests weekly and maintain all electronic and paper guests’ files.
- Help in maintaining the safety and cleanliness of work environment.
- Provide crisis intervention information, chemical dependency case management, and referral help.
- Help coordinate and facilitate support groups, Bible studies, addiction recovery curriculum, and classes.
- Administer observed urine collections for guests.
How you qualify
- Acknowledge and sign the Mission's Statement of Faith (see below).
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Education, Biblical Studies, Social Services, or related field preferred.
- 2 – 4 Experience in adult education or job training required.
- 2+ years of high impact volunteer management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working within a social service or a non-profit organization is highly preferred.
- Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and able to meet the standards of the Mission driver criteria required, including but not limited to:
- Clean driving record.
- Have a License for at least one year.
- No current suspensions or revocations.
- Clean driving record.
- At least 21 years of age.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires frequent use of computers, keyboarding, and talking on the telephone. Occasionally stand, balance, twist, bend, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds and walks using stairways to climb to multiple floors within the facility. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
