Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI (able to obtain poly)

Required Education and Experience: 8+ years’ of relevant experience.

Functional Responsibility:

  • Developing and instructing others on methodologies and criteria for the installation, inspection, and documentation of structured cabling system infrastructure to include cable tray, horizontal fiber and copper cable, backbone multi-pair copper, multi-strand fiber optic cable, telecommunications ground systems and associated connectivity hardware.
  • Install 4510 network switches, fiber, and copper for end users.
  • Installation of ducts and conduits, pulling cables, and terminating, testing, and repairing interior and outside copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Generate rack elevations, floor layouts, and connection detail drawings for multiple and varied spaces.
  • Install, fusion splice, label and test optical fiber.
  • Install, terminate, label and test shielded and unshielded copper.
  • Install and program various network devices to include crypto, routers, and switches such as Cisco 6500. Install optical transceivers.
  • Install complete data center infrastructure (Racks, PDU, CAT6, SM/MM Fiber, Patch Panels, and Labeling).
  • Familiarity with common networking terms and fabric-based network design.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience as a cable technician associated with the functional duties.

Preferences:

  • DoD IAT Level II certification

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the work day.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will/may be required as a condition of hire.
