     The Radiology Scheduling Supervisor:

    • Monitors approximately 1% of each scheduler’s phone volume to ensure positive patient interaction and adherence to scheduling guidelines.  Provides immediate feedback to both radiology schedulers and manager/supervisors.
      • The two methods of monitoring are side by side and remote.  Both perform different levels of quality control and used jointly, can be very effective in raising the caliber of performance.
      • Daily interface with manager/supervisor to communicate results of monitoring efforts; identifies training needs as a result of monitoring and internal/external customer concerns/complaints.
      • Provides detailed information on individual and group performance and training needs to Radiology Director.
    • Alerts Director and department manager to individual and departmental training needs. Determines effectiveness of subsequent training through monitoring and reviewing radiology appointments scheduled.  Provides feedback to both Director and manager.
      • Tracking areas of individual weakness and group deficiencies will dictate short and long term training needs.
      • In conjunction with Radiology Director/manager will develop action plans for employees to “bridge the gap” between the employee’s current performance and their expected performance.
    • Keeps informed of all changes to appointment guidelines, hospital pilots, system enhancements and any changes, which could affect the patient interaction and the appointment making process.
    • Manages Outstanding Radiology orders in Sorian scheduling, syngo and  Picture Archiving System (PACS)
    • Tracks outstanding orders to ensure all orders are scheduled per scheduling timeframes and guidelines
    • Monitors orders that are overdue in Sorian scheduling and notifies ordering providers when overdue orders are cancelled.
    • Manages and monitors documentation of outreach Radiology appointment calls in Sorian scheduling  and the Picture Archiving System (PACS)
    • Gathers materials for training, and at times, delivers training modules developed by the manager/supervisor.
    • Schedule appointments for patients for “ALL” radiology services (I.E. CT, Mammography, MRI)
    • Verifies insurances for patient appointments.
    • Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area.  The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all-inclusive.


    Qualified candidates will possess:

    • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Healthcare or Communications Administration preferred or equivalent combination of education or experience.
    • 3+ years of experience in high volume, appointment setting radiology call center required; however, in a health care setting with customer service experience preferred.
    • Demonstrates excellent communication skills with strong customer focus required.
    • Strong mentoring and coaching skills required
    • Knowledge of fluency in appointment guidelines preferred
    • Familiarity with telephony, and ACD reports preferred
    • Computer literate
    • Familiarity with Word-processing and spreadsheet applications preferred
