Junior Technical Service Engineer
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:- Install, calibrate and provide on site repair support for the Hycor NOVEOS instruments located at Hycor and customer sites.
- Serve as the lead investigator for instrument complaints. Analyze the root cause and provide corrective and preventive action plans.
- Review all documentation regarding servicing equipment routinely. Provide updates to, service manuals and testing procedures.
- Provide routine preventative maintenance/verification services for instrumentation in accordance to the procedures outlined by Hycor and instrument manufacturer.
- Maintain the in-house instruments at Hycor in accordance with the schedule.
- Execute performance qualification testing of in-house instruments and trend data.
- Inform management of any potential issues to include any potential failure modes.
- Follow all safety, ESD procedures when working on equipment either at a customer site or in house.
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
- Interact with all co-workers, management and customers in a positive, supportive and cooperative way.
- 30% travel may be required.
OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- Participate in internal audits.
- Support Service group with maintenance and repairs of current Hycor products as needed.
- Participate in validation studies for instrument improvements / corrective actions.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.

EXTENT OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Minimal supervision should be required for the person who is handling the essential functions of the position in a competent manner. Moderate supervision may be required for special projects. Clear and supportive communication/interaction with the customer as a key facing representative of HycorThis person will need to exercise some independent judgment and use analytical and creative initiative. Large repair costs which will affect the budget will need to be approved.
THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Education: A minimum Bachelor's degree in Instrument or Electrical Engineering or 4 years relevant experience with medical diagnostic equipment.
Licenses/Certifications:
Not applicable to this position Skills/Abilities: Travel is required. Flexible travel schedule: often stays can be extended.
Ability to accurately read and interpret schematic diagrams. Ability to disassemble and reassemble complex electro-mechanical assemblies, sometimes with poor or missing documentation. Broad familiarity with Windows computers, their setup and configuration. Basic statistical analysis skills for interpreting data. Basic understanding of regulatory compliance procedures: ability to handle multiple projects; good written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational capabilities; emphasis to detail; customer satisfaction skills. Good diagnostic, problem solving skills to include technical and analytical analysis.Experience: 4+ years prior related work experience with instrumentation, medical
diagnostic interaction preferred. Advanced knowledge of computer software
applications would be beneficial.
