Extract is seeking an Electrical Safety Specialist.  This role specializes in electrical safety and provides electrical safety support to Extract’s Employees including but not limited to performing shop and field audits and providing onsite training as needed. 

 

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Instructs and trains employees on a variety of training topics both in class and in field 

  • Works with Field Service team routinely to understand operational and HSE issues and improve training for the future 

  • Performs regular wellsite visits for developing training material, evaluating HSE and technical operations skills and providing On the Job Training (OJT) 

  • Executes mentoring and coaching for Field Service and operations teams 

  • Proactively assists field service and operations teams with interpretation and implementation of Extract’s HSE programs, processes, OSHA standards, and expectations 

  • Fosters continuous improvement and effectiveness of safety programs by performing technical and safety audits and job safety analysis (JSA's) and recommending corrective actions 

  • Ensures compliance with timely reporting as required by state and OSHA health and safety regulations and statutes 

  • Coordinates and leads regional Safety meetings, Safety Committee activities and coordinate Emergency Response Teams 

  • Responds to emergency situations, or respond to incidents or accidents, as appropriate 

  • Leads incident investigations and reporting, including root cause analysis, development of corrective action strategies, maintaining statistical information, recommending program revisions as appropriate and creating routine reports to leadership 

  • Drives solution resolution of HSE activities and improvement opportunities 

  • Inspects and maintains safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, safety showers/eye wash, first aid kits and AED's 

  • Attends client meetings, industry conferences, and roundtable workgroups to keep abreast of industry and customer-standard and emerging policies and trend to maintain HSE compliance 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Job Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Proven and demonstrated respect for safety; ability to influence others to perform their jobs safely and create a culture of safety 

  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards related to oilfield services 

  • A strong desire to teach, coach, and mentor employees 

  • Ability to convey complex procedures in simple ways 

  • Willingness to work as a team to meet customer's needs 

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions during the day/night  

  • Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

Education, Certifications and Work Experience: 

  • H.S Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred 

  • Electrical certification preferred 

  • 5+ years extensive electrical experience (previous time as an ESP Field Service technician or Field Service Supervisor) installing, operating and trouble-shooting ESP equipment, pay will be commensurate with level of Field Service experience 

  • 2+ years in Electric Submersible Pumps (ESP) experience, preferred or 2 years in quality (any field) preferred

Work Hours and Travel Requirements: 

  • Standard hours Monday through Friday typically apply, but must be flexible and able to work long hours when business needs require 

  • Must be able to travel up to 50% to our other locations 

 

Pre-Hire Requirements 

  • Valid Driver's License; Car insurance verification may be required 

  • Must maintain a good driving record and pass MVR check as required by role 

  • Must pass background check as well as drug screening

  • Service: Our highly trained and uniquely experienced personnel are experts in downhole unit installation and pulling, cable spooling and banding, ESP system start-up and the overall operational system configuration and any troubleshooting need.
