Job Title: Housekeeper
Department: Facilities
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY
The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for our clients and staff. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning duties to ensure the facility meets sanitation standards and supports the recovery journey of our clients. This ideal candidate will be diligent, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming the floor.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, equipment, and furnishings.
  • Emptying trash and recyclables. 
  • Replenishing supplies and monitor inventory levels of supplies and submit requisitions for replenishment as needed.
  • Clean and disinfect client rooms, treatment areas, and common areas on a regular basis, following infection control protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, ensuring that fixtures, surfaces, and floors are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling and storing cleaning products and equipment, always ensuring safe and effective use.
  • Monitor expenses and adhere to the budget for maintenance.
  • Create relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or incidents to appropriate supervisor promptly.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Uphold HIPAA confidentiality policy and respect the privacy of patients, staff, and visitors always.
  • Adhere to all established policies, procedures, and regulations governing housekeeping activities in a medical detox facility.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or environmental services, preferably in a healthcare setting, is desirable but not required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products commonly used in healthcare facilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, bend, lift, and move heavy objects as needed.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Pay Range
$16.00   Hourly to $19.00   Hourly
