The Manufacturing Operator Role
Supports the growth and development of PGC through performing both machining and finishing procedures in the custom manufacturing process to produce quality parts on time, through cross-training, demonstrating quality at the source, practicing continuous improvement, working safely, and providing the information requested for root-cause analysis while supporting a no-blame culture of trust and continuous learning.

TOOLS UTILIZED
Jig for backslitting, assembly jigs, box cutters, tape machines, calculators, tape measures, lifting devices, roll stands, carts; basic hand tools such as: keyboards, carts, 2 wheelers, hand jacks, vacuum cleaners, sealer, vulcanizer, press, calipers, blueprint.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Computer Skills: Proficiency with PCs in a manufacturing environment, including computerized presses, digital knives, and similar.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees.

Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

While performing this job, the employee is frequently exposed to different types of materials (rubber, graphite, etc.), mechanical moving parts, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
