Summary
Coordinates the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. This staff position is considered a training position for those with degrees in a related field but with limited to no field experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
&bull; Conducts site inspection to monitor progress/conformance to specs and procedures
&bull; May be expected to design portions of a project
&bull; Makes calculations, using engineering formulas and skills
&bull; Instructs drafters how to reduce designs into completed drawings
&bull; Conducts routine geotechnical engineering laboratory checks
&bull; Leads concrete and rebar inspection testing
&bull; Performs research and writes reports
&bull; Prepares samples of unapproved materials for laboratory testing
&bull; Uses computer to run standard programs to solve engineering problems
&bull; Performs routine laboratory tests to determine various design parameters
&bull; Plans and implements engineering programs, including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements, per customer requirements
&bull; Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project
&bull; Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly
&bull; Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget
&bull; Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers
&bull; Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages
&bull; Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
&bull; Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
&bull; Prepares interim and completion project reports
&bull; Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management
&bull; Classifies soils according to standard types
&bull; Applies geological knowledge to engineering problems encountered in construction projects, such as dams, tunnels, and large buildings
&bull; Prepares geologic reports and maps, interprets research data, and recommends further study or action
&bull; Conducts or participates in environmental studies and prepares environmental reports
&bull; Directs drilling of exploratory borings and wells
&bull; Oversees installation of monitoring wells in accordance with state and federal requirements
&bull; Collects or supervises collection of soil and groundwater samples for analysis of chemical composition
&bull; Determines direction of groundwater flow based on review of historical records and site specific data
&bull; Determines the nature and extent of contamination in soil and groundwater at environmental sites
&bull; Participates in decision making regarding research priorities and provides information on feasibility of prospective projects
&bull; May lead junior level staff and interns by providing guidance, answering questions and being a resource to them
&bull; May direct tasks, other junior level staff and interns as needed
&bull; Identifies the potential for new projects and seeks opportunities to promote the company&rsquo;s services on an ongoing basis
&bull; Travels 25% (Site) to 100% (Geotechnical/Environmental) of the time which may be out of state
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has some supervisory responsibilities.
 
Qualifications:

Ability to review and understand plans, specs, and reports including site, grading, utility, foundation, details, structural, drawings, architectural, grading, federal, state and local regulations.
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 0 to 3 years of Site Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental engineering experience. Previous Internship or construction experience is preferred.
Experience with inspection of compacted fills, footings, ground improvement, deep foundations, retaining walls, utilities, asphalt, concrete, sitework elements.
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred or have the ability to become registered within six months. 
ACI/NICET/NJ DCA Special Inspector and Nuclear Densometer certification a plus
Valid Driver&rsquo;s License and possess reliable transportation to access job sites 
Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of solid geometry and trigonometry.
Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Proficient or familiarity with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, NitroPro, GSLOPE, KeyWall, MS Word, Excel, Adobe.
Position requires ability to use tools such a lump hammer, shovel, hand auger, Nuclear Density Gauge.

Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting SESI Consulting Engineers&rsquo; growth and maintaining our commitment to excellence with your strong negotiation skills, a thorough understanding of legal and contractual language, and the ability to manage relationships with both internal teams and external customers.  This role is critical in managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and protecting the firm&rsquo;s interests in all legal matters 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned 




Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and partners, including construction agreements, project contracts, non-disclosure, privacy, and service-level agreements.  






Legal Compliance: Ensure the firm's compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, as well as industry-specific regulations (e.g., environmental, health and safety, building codes, etc.).  






Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential legal risks to the firm, providing strategies to reduce exposure and manage liability related to projects, contracts, and business operations.  






Dispute Resolution and Litigation: Work with outside counsel to represent the firm in legal disputes, including claims related to contract breaches, intellectual property, construction defects, or regulatory violations. Manage external counsel when necessary.  






Financial Risk Management: Manages the client lien and lien waiver process. Conducts collection conversations with clients and escalate to attorneys if necessary. Identifies, assesses and implements appropriate document retention policies for the company. 






Employment Law: Advise on employment-related matters, including employee contracts, dispute resolution, workplace safety, and labor regulations, ensuring adherence to labor laws and best practices.   Develops and reviews employee related contracts such as non-disclosure, non-compete, and confidentiality agreements 






Insurance and Liability: Oversee the firm&rsquo;s insurance programs, reviewing policies, claims, and coverage options to ensure adequate protection for the firm and its projects.  






Training and Legal Awareness: Provide training to staff on legal topics relevant to the firm, such as contract law, compliance, and ethical considerations in business practices.  








General Legal Advice: Other day-to-day legal advice on various matters, including business operations, regulatory inquiries, and internal policies to ensure sound decision-making.  Manage relationships with outside attorneys, using them when needed.

Summary
Inspects and oversees construction of buildings, dams, utilities, walls, pavement, and other types of construction work to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications by performing the following duties.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 Conducts pile inspections, inspections of deep dynamic compaction process
       Observes compacted fills (including use of nuclear density gauges)
       Observes utility installation, concrete testing and rebar inspection
      Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts
       Performs inspections of deep dynamic compaction process
       Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of installations
       Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed and materials used conform to specifications
       Prepares samples of materials for laboratory testing and performs the tests
       Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and approves installation
       Interprets blueprints and specifications for Contractor and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction
       Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods
       Maintains daily logs of construction and inspection activities and completes daily progress reports
       Prepares sketches of construction installations
       Participates in environmental audits and prepare data summaries, data tables, data mapping and presentation, and preparation of environmental reports
       Follows blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams
       Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment
       Assists environmental engineers in the development of remediation devices
      Classifies soils according to standard types
      Examines rocks, minerals, and fossil remains to identify and determine sequence of processes affecting development of earth
       Applies knowledge of chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics to explain these phenomena and to help locate mineral, geothermal, and petroleum deposits  and underground water resources
       Applies geological knowledge to engineering problems encountered in construction projects, such as dams, tunnels, and large buildings
       Prepares geologic reports and maps, interprets research data, and recommends further study or action
       Conducts or participates in environmental studies 
       Directs drilling of exploratory borings and wells
       Oversees installation of monitoring wells in accordance with state and federal requirements
       Collects or supervises collection of soil and groundwater samples for analysis of chemical composition
       Determines direction of groundwater flow based on review of historical records and site specific data
       Performs environmental soil sampling
      Prepares summary and certification letters and reports
       Conducts pile and deep foundation inspections
       Inspects ground improvement
       Observes borings, test pits, geoprobes and cone penetrometer tests
       Conducts permeability testing and well monitoring
      Prepares project cost estimates, proposals, reports and mentors junior staff
       Works under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment
       Displays moderate skills with high level of proficiency
       Adheres to environmental, construction and OSHA safety policies and procedures to be in compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
       Consults with senior peers on certain projects
      Identifies the potential for new projects and seeks opportunities to promote the company&rsquo;s services on an ongoing basis
       Travels 100% of the time which may be out of state

Summary
Coordinates the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. This staff position is considered a training position for those with degrees in a related field but with limited to no field experience.

     Conducts site inspection to monitor progress/conformance to specs and procedures

&middot;       Performs routine laboratory tests to determine various design parameters
