Medical Materiel Specialist - Level II

Description
The Medical Materiel Specialist &ndash; Level II shall include but are not limited to working independently (single location sites) and management oversight of other onsite contractor staff, coordinating logistics activities with other base organizations, units, and government agencies, ensuring the overall readiness and availability of unit ECMM to include general medical materiel management and warehouse activities.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the logistical oversight and inventory management of the 27 Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Response Enterprise to ensure precise SLEP/DMLSS statistics and effectively communicate all SLEP related updates to affected units, AFMED, and NGB/SGX.  
Conduct monthly reviews, and provides monthly reports to the COR, of SLEP and DMLSS inventory records to ensure accuracy and program compliance.  
Contractor also functions as Logical SLEP coordinator.  
Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance. 
Track and document the usage of medical materials. 
Assist in the procurement of medical supplies and equipment. 
The position is designed for a Medical Materiel professional with a skillset critical to performing program management and oversight, effective communication at all levels, integrated collaboration, and strategic readiness reporting. 
Work independently at single-location sites.
Provide management oversight of onsite contractor staff.
Coordinate logistics activities with base organizations, units, and government agencies.
Ensure overall readiness and availability of unit ECMM (Expeditionary Contingency Medical Materiel), including general medical materiel management and warehouse activities.
Serve as the vendor-contracted Air National Guard (ANG) Influenza Program Manager, responsible for logistical oversight and management of the influenza vaccination program.
Act as the focal point between the Surgeon General and ANG Medical Groups regarding the influenza program.
Perform program management and oversight of medical materiel operations.
Communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
Collaborate in an integrated manner with stakeholders.
Provide strategic readiness reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate&rsquo;s Degree or higher or eight years of medical logistics field experience with six years of specialized medical materiel management experience. Advanced degree in a related field, preferred.
Minimum 8 years of medical logistics field experience with six years of specialized medical materiel management experience. Specialized experience shall include general supply activities, ordering, receiving, customer support, inventory management, assemblage management, warehousing, and operation of various materials handling equipment. The specialized experience shall be in a healthcare or healthcare support environment or setting. Must have experience in using and running transactions in the MMIS.
Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer sponsored visa.
Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.

 
Salary

 $ 22.83/hour + $5.09 H&W (Health and Welfare) hourly benefit

Description
The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) &ndash; Level III is responsible for performing inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of medical and non-medical support equipment, including but not limited to medical package tools, generators, and environmental control units. The BMET -Level III ensures all work is conducted in compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidance, DoD instructions, applicable regulations, and unit directives. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to established procedures to maintain equipment reliability and operational readiness.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure that the biomedical equipment is in compliance with Federal, State, and/or applicable regulatory requirements; implement quality control standards and maintain budget and vendor relationships.
Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems.
Assign routine repairs, inspections, and installations to subordinates and observe their performance.
Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems, and monitor completion of preventive maintenance activities performed by outside vendors (when applicable).
Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements.
Perform complex technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned military medical equipment.
Recommend new equipment and testing procedures.
Must follow original equipment manufacturer guidance, AFI, regulations and unit direction.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in medical devices, performing necessary repairs or coordinating with vendors for service when required.
Maintain detailed service records, documenting repairs, maintenance actions, and performance evaluations.
Assist in the installation and configuration of new biomedical equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
Life cycle management, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of medical and non-medical support equipment (oxygen generating systems, radiographic diagnostics equipment, life support systems, etc.).
Determines associated support items of equipment in order to perform scheduled services and maintenance repairs and calibration; supply support and provisioning requirements; and training requirements.
Prepares necessary support documentation and purchase requisitions of parts.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree is desired but may not be required if the minimum field experience requirement is met.
Must have graduated from the DoD Biomedical Maintenance Course or an accredited civilian Biomedical Maintenance Course.
Must graduate from the Planmeca digital dental course no later than 12 months after start.
Minimum 10 years of field experience (minimum of four years as a level II BMET) in managing: initial inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, life cycle management, repair of medical equipment, equipment acquisition, and safety within OEM guidance and local/state/federal regulations.
Advanced degree in a related field, preferred.
Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer sponsored visa.
Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.

Salary

$80,000-$85,000 annual

Description

Ensure all biomedical equipment and maintenance operations are in full compliance with Federal, State, and DoD regulatory requirements.
Serve as the Alternate Program Manager, supporting the Program Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, managing schedules, and ensuring contractual performance standards are met.
Lead and manage a team of biomedical technicians; assign tasks, monitor work performance, and provide technical and professional mentorship.
Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance and inspection schedules to optimize workflow efficiency and ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance.
Oversee and coordinate project management activities, including new equipment installation, system upgrades, lifecycle replacement, and equipment relocation.

The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) Level III Lead performs operational and safety testing, maintenance and repairs on patient care equipment. Responsibilities include technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned medical equipment, repair of damaged medical equipment, and overhaul of medical equipment. This is a Senior level technician position which also involves project management and equipment planning. Prior experience supervising biomedical equipment repair technicians is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
&middot;        Conduct technical inspections of new, used, or reconditioned medical equipment. 
&middot;        Perform maintenance actions, including repairs, calibrations, preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS), and overhauls of medical equipment.

&middot;        Support inventory management and tracking of biomedical equipment. 
&middot;        Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new biomedical equipment. 
&middot;        Assist in logistics planning and equipment deployment in support of operational readiness.

Monday - Friday, 0700-1530 PST

Qualifications
&middot;        As a minimum, BMET&rsquo;s shall be a graduate of the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Equipment Repairers Course or certified through the International Certification Commission (CBET) or have at least earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Equipment Technology.
&middot;        Minimum two (2) years of experience as a BMET.
&middot;        Must possess knowledge maintenance actions: technical inspections, repair, calibrations/PMCS, and overhaul of medical equipment.
&middot;        Ability to follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines. 
&middot;        Good communication and time management skills.
&middot;        Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.
&middot;        Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer sponsored visa.
&middot;        Experience with the Department of Defense, preferred.
 
Salary
&middot;        $ 26.92 - $30.05 per hour          
&middot;        $ 56,000.00 - $62,500.00 annually
