POSITION SUMMARY:
KERA is seeking a full-time On-Air Fundraising Coordinator to join our Development team. This position will focus on coordinating elements for year-round on-air fundraising campaigns, including in-studio pitching, production of on-air fundraising breaks, data management, scriptwriting, premium (thank you gift) development and ordering, gathering and editing member testimonials, and maintaining digital donation forms.

This position is based in Dallas and will focus primarily on fundraising campaigns for KXT (AAA music format) Radio Station. The on-air fundraising coordinator will also assist with all fundraising campaigns for KERA News (NPR) and WRR (Classical Radio).

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that will require some work on early mornings, evenings and weekends during fundraising campaigns. This position reports to the Manager, Radio On-Air Fundraising.


WHAT YOU'LL DO: 

Coordinate all KXT on-air fundraising campaigns, including: producing fundraising breaks during live radio campaigns, pitching during live radio campaigns, scriptwriting, reviewing airchecks, sourcing in-kind donations, fulfilling drawing prizes, developing and ordering custom premiums (thank you gifts), call center coordination, donation page coordination, talent scheduling, and communications.
Assist with coordination of WRR and KERA News campaigns including: producing fundraising breaks during live radio campaigns, pitching during live radio campaigns, scriptwriting, reporting daily results, and communications.
Utilize best practices in public media on-air fundraising to integrate new ideas and initiatives to drive revenue and membership growth for KXT (AAA music format) radio station.
Engage diverse perspectives and experiences in work product and in organizational interactions, including communication and decision-making.
Work with Programming, Operations, Audience Development and Development staff to proactively identify collaborative opportunities for production of fundraising elements: ticket opportunities, guest appearances, creative partnerships, etc.
Perform tactical analysis of fundraising results and strategic planning before, during and after on-air fundraising campaigns.
Ensure strategic goals, messaging and tone of fundraisers are implemented consistently and appropriately
Ensure on-air fundraising campaigns remain listener-focused while reaching fundraising goals.

SALARY RANGE

$58,000-$68,000, annually depending on experience

LOCATION:
We expect that this position will work out of our downtown Dallas office or Fair Park office at least 60% of the time. (Equivalent to 24 hours per week)

During on-air fundraising campaigns, onsite presence in studio will be required.

Time in office requirements are subject to change based on the needs of KERA and/or the position.

POSITION SUMMARY:
KERA is seeking a full-time Producer for its new local news magazine, NTX Now. The Producer will serve a pivotal role on the team, working closely with the managing producer to develop each day&rsquo;s show lineup. Additionally, the Producer will direct the live broadcast and live video stream and preproduce segments for future shows. The Producer will also help to guide the show&rsquo;s social media and digital presence.

This position is classified as FLSA exempt and is not eligible for overtime and reports to the Managing Producer, NTX Now.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Work closely with NTX Now&rsquo;s Managing Producer to map out daily segments and recurring features, coordinating continued coverage of morning breaking news and coordinating pre-produced content.
Book show segments and translate segments into digital and social content and community engagement.
Direct live daily broadcast and video stream of the show in coordination with the technical director.
Coordinate with newsroom Managing Editor and show Managing Producer to bring KERA news reporting into the show and turn show segments into news content.
Coordinate with regular show correspondents and North Texas-based resources for two-way opportunities related to their areas of expertise. 
Develop engaging program ideas and creative approaches to covering news and current affairs.
Work with Live Producer to support NTX Now presence at events.
Maintain the highest editorial standards of accuracy, ethics, balance and diversity. Identify diverse voices in coverage online and on the air.
Host two-way interviews to air during show as needed.
Represent KERA at professional and public events as assigned.

KERA is seeking a full-time Technical Director (TD) for its new local news magazine, NTX Now. The TD will engineer the daily live radio broadcast of the show and the live video stream. The TD will also help book and record interviews for preproduced segments; create and distribute additional content from the show&rsquo;s podcasts and occasionally support NTX Now events. This position will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards for the show&rsquo;s sound.

This position is classified as FLSA non-exempt, is not eligible for overtime and reports to the Managing Producer, NTX Now.

Elevate sound quality of recorded interviews as needed via Adobe Audition
Execute the daily live video stream in conjunction with NTX Now producers
Book and preproduce segments for the show
Create additional digital, social and broadcast content from segments of the show
Upload and distribute the show&rsquo;s podcasts through PRX
Work with NTX Now Live Producer to record conversations at events that will air during upcoming shows
Manage talk studio recording schedule
Participate in KERA fundraising activities as needed and assigned
