CUSTOMER IMPACT STATEMENT:    








The Customer Care Specialist serves as the first point of contact for inquiries via phone, email and web submissions.  The incumbent is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to all members/customers, both external and internal (staff).  









Reports to the Manager of Customer Care  


 


PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES (may include, but not limited to): 
 




Supports functions of a multi-channel contact center

Answers incoming calls/requests
engages in problem-solving and provides solutions
manages and responds appropriately to all inquiries including but not limited to email, in-person, and phone using the case management solution guidelines of the CRM of record - Salesforce

 
Provides high quality customer service

Ensures and provides quality service to both internal (staff) and external customers
Answers inquiries by clarifying desired information, researching, locating, and delivering findings
Maintains contact center database by entering information accurately and quickly
Enhances organization reputation by providing positive customer experience for all those contacted, etiher through email or by phone

 
Provides functional support through the use of council's CRM for all departments

Data entry of back office registrations
Supports functional tasks within the CRM(s) of record
Clerical functions, management of department files and folders, paper handling as required
Responsible for the maintenance of the database with the fullfillment of QC reports in Personify and Salesforce
Works with Database Administrator to resolve errors from Boomi reports
Use of Doubleknot for registration of property reservations

Minimum Education and Experience 




High School diploma or equivalent experience required.  






Experience and knowledge of Girl Scouts preferred.  




 


Skills: 


Business technology expertise - Strong user computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.  CRM experience, especially Salesforce, desirable. Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies with ability to understand the basic data quality principles and practice.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Under the general direction of the Property Director, the Part-Time Camp Ranger provides general maintenance and custodial services in accordance with the council&rsquo;s policies and standards. The incumbent works closely with camp directors, volunteers and council staff to ensure that troop, day and resident campers have a successful camping experience. The Camp Ranger ensures the readiness of the property&rsquo;s buildings and grounds for users of camp facilities to ensure a fun, safe, environmentally conscious outdoor experience. 19-20 hours will usually be from Friday-Sunday. Starting times may vary in accordance with project timelines.  Emergency calls to be responded to if possible, during weekend, including after 5 pm.  
SALARY RANGE: $25.00 per hour

Camp/Property readiness is achieved consistently.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with troop leaders and campers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Upkeep and Maintenance of Camps


Ensures the readiness of the properties for troop camping, summer camp, group use and council-sponsored programs. 
Performs all maintenance and custodial services as directed by the Property Director to maintain properties to the required standard. 
Maintains camp properties in good operational order by inspecting and repairing any issues that arise.   
Completes regular maintenance tasks efficiently, effectively and with cost management in mind.   
Keeps camps clean of trash, site hazards and reports any issues to the Property Director. 
Sets up for and actively participates with small and large work groups, including assisting with corporate work-days and organizational service projects.


Customer Service and Support

Ensures a quality customer service attitude is demonstrated at all times. 
Provides services to encampments, troops, and groups using any facility. 
Conducts thorough check-in and check-out procedures for all groups using any facility. 
Sets up and moves equipment, as needed. 
Periodically visits groups during their camping reservation/experience. 
Remains available for emergencies as needed.  



Public Relations

Creates a positive impression with the public on a daily basis including our Girl Scout members, public user groups, and other organizations. 
Complies with Green Acre rules for the public. 
Supports council-wide fund development efforts.


Other Responsibilities

Provides support as directed during summer operations.


Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

High school diploma / GED required.
Experience:

Standard Role: 3+ years&rsquo; experience working in a property and/or grounds maintenance.
Able to maintain, drive and operate safely and efficiently various types of mowers, chainsaws, landscaping equipment, trucks and construction vehicles (i.e. tractors, backhoes, boom lift, etc.). 
Possesses basic mechanical trade knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing and general property maintenance. 




Physical Requirements:

Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. 
Frequent mobility, bending, and stooping. 
Work on ladders 
Work in tight spaces

This position will assist the Fund Development team with securing financial support from individual donors and community sponsors for GSCSNJ annual fundraising appeals, such as, but not limited to, direct mail & online appeals, special events, and recurring donor program. Tasks include assistance with writing appeals, editing digital platforms, follow up outreach and phone calls to donors, vendors, and volunteers, assisting with donor acknowledgments/correspondence, and general duties to support the work of the VP, of Fund Development & Marketing. This position is ideal for students majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Marketing, English, or Nonprofit Studies.

LOCATION: Hybrid

DURATION: The internship will run from November 2024 to June 2025. Start and end dates are flexible based on the intern's academic year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 Interns must be enrolled in a graduate, bachelor's, or associate's degree program and be in their Junior or Senior year.
 Intern work schedule may vary depending upon course credit requirements, intern scheduling preferences, need for time off, etc.
 Interns may work up to twenty (20) hours per week during the school year.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Donor Relations and Stewardship:
 Completes GsLearn Training modules online and develops an understanding of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
 Assist with the development and implementation of donor cultivation and stewardship activities, including thank-you letters, calls, and emails.
 Learn and utilize DonorPerfect platform and other essential databases to track donor information and manage fundraising efforts

Grant Writing and Research:
 Support the Fund Development team in researching grant opportunities and drafting grant proposals.
 Assist with compiling data and success stories to be included in grant applications and reports to funders.
 Support in data entry and maintenance of records related to prospecting and pre-award services.
 Assist in creating and maintaining organized files containing proposal drafts, research materials, and related documents.

Fundraising Events:

Ability to recognize if participants will be able to safely participate in programming, and address concerns/questions if participants need to be turned away.
Evaluate the success of the outdoor program offerings and the development of the participants abilities and skills in adventure.
Ensure that participants know and follow safety and educational procedures for each location.


Assist in the implementation activities such as on-demand programming, rock wall, zip line, archery, low ropes, & boating (offerings may change from camp to camp based on availability and individual qualifications).

Train other staff in their adventure responsibilities including spotting and catching.
Provide on-demand or badgework programming under the direction of the Camp Director.


Assist in the management and care of the equipment and site.

Conduct daily checks of area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
Clean activity area daily keeping it free of hazards and debris.

Other Job Duties:


Attends all training sessions and pre-season staff meetings.
Maintains clear and positive written and verbal communication with all staff.
Participates enthusiastically in all camp activities, providing support and guidance to all staff.
Adhere to all GSCSNJ council policies and procedures.
Observe all safety precautions and comply with all GSCSNJ council health and safety rules and procedures.
Must be available to work Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Scheduling varies weekend to weekend, and will be confirmed with Activities Specialist one week prior to work.


Qualifications:


Must be at least 18 years of age.
Current certification in the area of instruction or documented experience and training.

All archery instructors must hold at least a current Level 1 Instructor Certification from USA Archery or an equivalent certifying body.
All boating instructors must hold at least a current Small Craft Safety Certification from GSCSNJ or an equivalent certifying body.
All zip line, low ropes, rock wall and programming instructors must participate in on-site training with GSCSNJ.


Ability to interact with all age levels.
Must pass a criminal background check.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Training and experience in teaching outdoor activities.


Activities may include on-demand skill building/badge work, rock wall, zip line, archery, low ropes, and/or boating


Desire and ability to work with children outdoors.
Understanding of the development needs of youth. 
Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner.
Must be able to participate in the activity that is being instructed (i.e. instructors at the rock wall should be able to climb).


Physical Aspects of the Position:


Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
Some physical requirements could be endurance including prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, climbing a ladder or to a platform, and stretching.

Qualifications:


Must be at least 18 years of age.
Current certification in the area of instruction or documented experience and training.

All archery instructors must hold at least a current Level 1 Instructor Certification from USA Archery or an equivalent certifying body.
All boating instructors must hold at least a current Small Craft Safety Certification from GSCSNJ or an equivalent certifying body.
All zip line, low ropes, rock wall and programming instructors must participate in on-site training with GSCSNJ.


Ability to interact with all age levels.
Must pass a criminal background check.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Training and experience in teaching outdoor activities.


Activities may include on-demand skill building/badge work, rock wall, zip line, archery, low ropes, and/or boating


Desire and ability to work with children outdoors.
Understanding of the development needs of youth. 
Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner.
Must be able to participate in the activity that is being instructed (i.e. instructors at the rock wall should be able to climb).


Physical Aspects of the Position:


Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
Some physical requirements could be endurance including prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, climbing a ladder or to a platform, and stretching.
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
The ability to withstand daily exposure to the sun, heat, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, etc.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[Position Purpose: To further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of adventure activities at the camp. Deliver adventure activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers age and abilities. Inspect both the equipment and the site safety before and after use. Make sure all equipment is put away in a secure location when not in use. This position involves considerable teamwork and group management skills.

Essential Job Functions:

Deliver progressive outdoor programs to participants as described in Activity Checkpoints and through discussion with the Camp Director.

Each participant must possess the physical strength and technical skills to use the equipment, and must understand the safety procedures and consequences of their actions. 
Ability to recognize if participants will be able to safely participate in programming, and address concerns/questions if participants need to be turned away.
Evaluate the success of the outdoor program offerings and the development of the participants abilities and skills in adventure.
Ensure that participants know and follow safety and educational procedures for each location.


Assist in the implementation activities such as on-demand programming, rock wall, zip line, archery, low ropes, & boating (offerings may change from camp to camp based on availability and individual qualifications).

Train other staff in their adventure responsibilities including spotting and catching.
Provide on-demand or badgework programming under the direction of the Camp Director.


Assist in the management and care of the equipment and site.

Conduct daily checks of area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
Clean activity area daily keeping it free of hazards and debris.
Report any issues to the Camp Director.




Other Job Duties:


Attends all training sessions and pre-season staff meetings.
Maintains clear and positive written and verbal communication with all staff.
Participates enthusiastically in all camp activities, providing support and guidance to all staff.
