The School of Imagination and Happy Talkers is the leading inclusive early childhood education and multidisciplinary intervention program for neurodiverse learners, bringing out the extraordinary in every child.
We offer groundbreaking early-childhood education programs, cutting-edge intervention services, and a full-inclusion preschool that empowers special-needs children to excel with their typical peers, giving all children the foundation for success in learning and life.

Preschool Aide — Entry-Level / ECE Pathway
School of Imagination Dublin, CA Part-Time or Full-Time available
Pay: $20-$22/hour, depending on experience
About the role:
School of Imagination is looking for a Preschool Aide to join our team. This role is designed for someone early in their early childhood education journey — you don't need completed ECE coursework to start, just a genuine interest in working with young children and a willingness to begin (or continue) your ECE units while you learn on the job alongside our lead teachers.
You'll always work under the direct supervision of a fully qualified teacher — you're never solely responsible for a child or classroom on your own. This is a supported, hands-on way to build real classroom experience while you complete your coursework.
What you'll do:

Support daily classroom activities alongside a lead teacher
Help with transitions, meals, and routines
Provide one-on-one attention to children as directed
Assist with classroom setup and cleanup
Observe and learn inclusive teaching practices in a program that integrates speech, occupational, and behavioral therapy alongside early education.

What we're looking for:

18 years or older
Currently enrolled in, or willing to enroll in, early childhood education coursework (at least 6 units, per state licensing requirements)
Comfortable working with young children, including children with diverse needs and abilities
Reliable, warm, and eager to grow into a teaching role over time
CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Why School of Imagination:
We're an inclusive early childhood program where team members work alongside SLPs, OTs, and behavioral therapists — a genuinely unique place to start (or grow) a career in early childhood education. This role is a real pathway: as you complete your ECE units and gain classroom hours, you'll be a strong internal candidate for our Assistant Educator openings.
Offer:

Opportunities for professional growth in a supportive environment.
Premium health, dental and vision plans with 100 percent employer-paid options available for full time positions
PTO accrual (full time) and paid holidays beginning your first day
401k, HSA with employer contribution, life insurance, among other benefits
Reimbursement for professional dues, CPR/first aid certification
Low classroom ratios, with multiple educators to each classroom

Occupational Therapist (Full-Time)
School of Imagination Dublin, CA
About School of Imagination
School of Imagination is an inclusive early childhood education and therapy center in Dublin, California, serving children birth through age 5 with a range of developmental needs and learning profiles. We integrate speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, applied behavior analysis, and early intervention alongside our preschool program. Our mission is to bring out the extraordinary in every child — and we build that foundation through collaborative, family-centered, and evidence-based care.
Our team members are passionate about children's development, mission-aligned, and committed to working across disciplines to ensure that every child leaves us with stronger communication, regulation, learning, and life skills.
The Role: Occupational Therapist
The Occupational Therapist at School of Imagination is a core clinical partner in an integrated early childhood developmental care system — not a stand-alone service provider.
OT sits alongside Speech-Language Pathology, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Infant Development as one of four disciplines that collectively address communication, behavior, sensory regulation, motor development, and learning in young children. At SOI, OT strategies are embedded across classroom routines, treatment plans are built collaboratively with cross-discipline clinical teams, and skill generalization is a shared responsibility.
The right candidate isn't just a strong clinician — they think in terms of the whole child and understand that the sensory and motor foundation they're building directly supports what the SLP, the BCBA, and the classroom educator are also working on.
Key Responsibilities
The OT in this role carries a full clinical caseload while contributing actively to the integrated care infrastructure. On a typical week, that includes:

Assessment & Clinical Evaluation

Conduct standardized and clinical assessments of sensory processing, fine motor, gross motor, self-regulation, and functional daily living skills

Write clear, actionable evaluation reports and treatment plans

Direct Service Delivery

Deliver individual and small-group therapy sessions aligned to each child's treatment plan and IEP goals

Document progress and adjust interventions based on child response and clinical indicators

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Participate actively in case conferences with Speech, ABA, and Infant Development colleagues

Coordinate goals and ensure treatment approaches across disciplines are mutually reinforcing

Contribute to integrated problem-solving around challenging behaviors or skill barriers

Documentation & Compliance

Complete all required documentation in CentralReach (progress notes, treatment plans, goal updates) with accuracy and on-time consistency

Maintain compliance with billing, licensing, and clinical documentation standards

Family & Caregiver Coaching

Provide parent and caregiver training to extend OT strategies into home and community settings

Support families in understanding their child's sensory and motor needs

Clinical Leadership & Organizational Contribution

Participate in the Clinical Leadership Council and other cross-discipline structures that sustain the integrated model

Contribute to team culture, professional development, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

California OT License (OTR/L) — required to begin

Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program

Commitment to interprofessional collaboration and evidence-based practice

Excellent written and verbal communication skills — particularly with families and interdisciplinary teams

Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation systems (familiarity with CentralReach preferred but not required)

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience in pediatric or early childhood settings

Experience with children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or sensory processing needs

Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)

Background or training in sensory integration, neurodevelopmental approaches, or family-centered early intervention

Experience with IEP development and special education processes

Working Conditions

Full-time position (~40 hours/week)

Hours: Monday–Friday, during business hours

Location: 9801 Dublin Blvd, Dublin, CA (in-person clinical work)

Environment: Classroom, therapy rooms, and our School of Imagination and Happy Talkers campus in the Dublin hills — surrounded by nature with outdoor learning spaces and gross motor areas; exposure to typical early childhood activity and learning environments

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $93,000–$110,000/year, based on experience and qualifications

Health Insurance: Medical, dental, vision coverage

Retirement: 401(k) plan

Paid Time Off: Generous PTO + paid holidays

Professional Development: Continuing education support; access to training in our integrated care model and evidence-based practices

Mission-Driven Culture: Work alongside experienced clinicians, educators, and a deeply committed team

Reporting Structure
This role reports directly to Co-Founder & Executive Director.
