Your Job:

The OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner will work with a multi-disciplinary team at the Golden Cross Academic Clinic to provide appropriate obstetric and gynecologic care for adolescent female and women patients. Facilitate prenatal care in a group setting using the Centering Pregnancy model of care.  Supports and promotes the vision, mission, and strategic plans of Methodist Health System

Your Job Requirements:

  • Completion of a women’s health Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification
  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner providing obstetric and gynecologic care to patients
  • Exceptional communication skills and commitment to a positive patient experience
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products 
  • Superior oral and written communication skills 

Your Job Responsibilities:  

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and radiology procedures within practice scope. Seek licensed physician interpretation for results when necessary
  • Maintain all clinical information in the electronic medical record system, including health status, treatments and plans.
  • Contributes to and participates in continuous quality improvement process to measure improvement and opportunities for improvement.
  • Refer patients to appropriate licensed physicians, clinics, or other health providers for the purpose of specialized care outside of practice scope
  • Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations. Establish medical diagnosis(es) and determine a plan of care for preventative care services, short-term health problems, chronic stable health problems, and/or exacerbation of chronic health problems
  • Within a multidisciplinary team, manage a full scope of female obstetric and gynecologic for adolescent female and women patients, including both preventative care such as prenatal, postpartum and family planning methods as well as a variety of short term and chronic stable health problems. Facilitate prenatal care in a group setting using the Centering Pregnancy model of care.
  • Provides safety and operator training on basic imaging equipment to hospital staff as needed
  • Performs unscheduled repairs, in a timely manner, on all medical devices assigned to his or her area of responsibility in accordance with manufacture’s guidelines
  • Performs safety testing on all medical equipment as assigned after each repair or scheduled maintenance check.
