We are currently taking resumes/applications for an EXPERIENCED Pile-Driver Operator for the Thibodaux, LA and surrounding area.  Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:

  • Job Scope: 
    • Operate cranes mounted on skids, barges, crawler treads, or locomotive cranes to drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures, such as buildings, bridges, and piers.
  • Duration of Job: Temp to Hire
    • Based on Job Performance
  • Position Requirements:
    • MUST HAVE VALID LICENSE
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.​​​​​
    • MUST be able to pass physical
    • MUST be able to pass DISA drug screen
    • MUST be able to pass background check
    • MUST be able to provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, & gloves)
    • MUST have reliable transportation
  • Required Skills:
    • Ability to efficiently move hand and foot levers of hoisting equipment to position piling leads, hoist piling into leads, and position hammers over pilings.
    • Excellent hand-eye coordination, focus and dedication to following safety protocols
      • Must be able to judge spaces correctly & handle many controls at the same time
    • Proficient in oral and written communication skills.

  • Duties/Responsibilities:​
    • Responsible to drive the setting for a building foundation, bridge, or pier into the ground
    • Controls the machine from the cab by using pedals & levers
    • Move levers and turn valves to activate power hammers, or to raise and lower drop hammers that drive piles to required depths.
    • Drive pilings to provide support for buildings or other structures, using heavy equipment with a pile driver head.
    • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
    • Maintain visual and radio contact with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly
    • Inspect machines and equipment daily, perform routine maintenance procedures and minor repairs as required and initiate additional repair requests from mechanics when necessary
      • Clean, lubricate, and refill equipment.
      • Performing routine crane maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating
    • Mange house keeping activities when requested.
      • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
      • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
      • Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.
    • Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
    • Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
      • Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
      • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
      • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
      • Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS
    • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods
    • Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis
    • Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
    • Excellent physical strength & stamina
    • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks
    • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
      • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
      • Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
      • The employee is occasionally exposed to loud noise, fumes, and/or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock

  • Pay:
    • $18.00 - $24.00 (DOE)
    • Weekly Pay
    • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
  • Schedule:
    • Monday - Friday (Weekends as Needed)
      • 8 - 12 Hours Day (With weather permitting)
